Default Conspiracy theories that were later proven true

I always here about conspiracies, but I never here anything about conspiracy theorist being right.

So, I am looking for conspiracies that were proven to be the truth later on down the road. I'm not looking for current conspiracies, or ones that people feel must be true.
I'm looking for ones where the people who were considered crazy at first were the ones to get the final laugh.

Exclamation Re: Conspiracy theories that were later proven true

Here's one. Conspiracy theorists have been saying for years that the feds are always listening in, and can hear every word you say, one way or the other.

Look what Fox News has just reported:

You better get yourself a tin-foil cell phone holder people. The regime has just stepped one up on us.

Any electrician (or anyone with a multimeter) could prove that there's no way the cellphone thing is possible.

Think of it this way: If you still have the battery in the cell phone, and the battery has a charge, then any circuitry or devices inside the phone has open access to that power. Even if you turn the cell phone off, it still has available power running through the circuitry, since the battery charge is still available. And since cell phone companies have already been proven to have installed listening devices into the phones, could not those listening devices be tapped into easily enough by the federal government spy agencies, even with the cell phone off, but the battery supplying full power? Of course! This is because the listening part of the cell phone, the receiver, is never off, unless the battery is out of the phone. When you turn off the phone, you don't turn off the receiver, you turn off the transmitter and lights only.

From the phones I've worked (well, played) with, there's one small watch type battery that keeps the time when the cell is switched off, and to allow the on button to switch the phone on by switching the battery circuit on. This tiny watch batter wouldn't ever have enough juice to power a cell radio.

That's not to say that theres not phones out there that do use main battery to keep the time when off, but I doubt it as it would drain in a matter of days.

I know my last post was very matter-of-fact, but honestly this is what I know about electronics in these phones, and I just don't see how it would work. Apologies if my explanation was terrible.

Your phone is already 2 steps towards being a device for the purpose of eavesdropping, allow me to explain;

1: Your phone receives and sends electronic messages - whether it's required for the phone to be active or not is irrelevant, this should hold cause for concern seeing as it is possible to snoop on your conversation without any physical hardware on board.

2: Many phones these days have intraweb access software installed, and tbh anything that's hooked up to the intrawebz without proper protection (or consideration of risk) is NEVER going to be 100% private.

I was also wondering that seeing as you 'know about electronics', whether or not you've found any modifications to factory-line components in the subjects you've dissected?

1. Hitler is strongly believed to have burn down the Reichstag, but that is till up for debates. There's no physical evidence to go off of. Only motives.

2. We knew of Pearl Harbor just before it happened and word got to the military forces of the attack right after it happened. We knew a Japanese attack would come at the time, but didn't know where and when. The United States did not need an attack to be commited on it to get the people to support a war with Japan or even the allied powers fighting in Europe.

3. ???? Please enlighten me on the topic.
