Ok, well i'm going to make this very clear so we can avoid these threads. I've had the same problem as you not too long ago. Well it's too late for the morning after pill, so forget that. Around two weeks after this insident, get a pregnancy test so you can be sure. Once you know what the results are, you can decide what you will do with it. If you eriously don't want a kid, and she is for abortion, you arn't out of total luck yet. You can discuss with her that keeping the baby is not a good idea for all three of you, and that it will make all your lives harder. Then you could dicide to put it up for adoption or not. But if your girl is intent on keeping this baby, then happy fathers day my fellow totsean.

I'm 22. I want to be a father. I have for a while. I'm pretty solid financially. I make a decent amount, with a huge chunk saved in investments. She's 28, and has a decent career as well. Ideally, I'd wait another year or two, until i'm even further ahead. But I know this is the one I want as a mother, and I have a chance now. It's just a pet peeve of mine when people who DO have kids act like it was the end of their life after they were born. People make a choice to have children and then they can further choose to be happy with that choice or choose to hang around pining for all of the "fun" they think they should be having.

It would be naive to say that children do not take up all of your time. For the next 18 years your children are going to take up the majority of your time, that is the benefit/consequence of having children.

No...But I do blame people who hang around and feel "cheated" out of the "good times." I certainly didn't know how time consuming and difficult caring for a baby would be, but I think I can honestly say that I've never felt like I was missing out on anything meaningful. I mean there have been times that I've wished I had a sitter so my husband and I could go out, but in the end those times don't really matter all that much.

It's like I said, everyone who is a parent CHOSE to be one, so they should just have fun with it and stop worrying about what they're "missing!"

Its true that you should live in the moment, but not everyone is "okay" with having their life center around their children. They want to have friends, they want alone time with their husbands, they want to be able to go out without worrying that everything is alright at the house.

These are the things people don't anticipate and don't realize are going to be painful to live through. Even when your kid is old enough and you can do all those things you want, you won't want to anymore. You will want to be with your kid all the time because thats all you've known for 16 years and then wonder why they are trying to break away from you.

Its just regret at the roots. Regret that you didn't prepare yourself more for having a child, but this is of course not everyone.

But if your personal experience is so positive then why not put a positive spin on it? Speak from your own experience, not from the negative experiences of others. Like I am the only housewife I know who likes to cook...Every other wife hates it, but I wouldn't advise a budding chef to lay down the spatula just because SOME people don't enjoy cooking! I would tell him or her that cooking is great fun because that's been my experience with it.
