Last weekend while visiting a friend I met a girl, we screwed around, I was about to fuck her before she started crying about her boyfriend or something. So we stopped, she went to sleep somewhere else, and that was the end of that.

Clearly she has some emotional issues, or perhaps felt guilty, whatever...I don't know, nor do I care.

I found out today though that she is telling people that I attempted to rape her. Not only is this kind of slander enormously detrimental to my respectability, but apparently she is considering taking some kind of legal action.

So it'll come down to my word against hers, and when it comes to this sort of thing, the legal system is EXTREMELY biased in the favor of women.

We were both intoxicated at the time but neither of us to the point of impairment.

What can I do?

first thing i would do is attempt to talk to the girl. obviously if she liked you enough to get on you she most likely has enough respect to talk to you again. she probably just doesnt want to get in trouble with her boyfriend. talk it over with her and im sure things will turn out fine.

I've never had such things happen to me, but if they did I'm guessing the best thing to do would be to turn it around and get her in shit for lying.

Ya man but be careful when you talk because you don't want to make it seem like your trying to save your ass. Take it slow talk to her, than try to see if her ex w.e knows anything about it, but don't get him into it if he hasn't heard ne thing yet. If it gets too out of hand talk to an authority or someone that will help you out. Both being intoxicated to might help it out if they see traces of w/e in both your bodies. So it means no one had any ability to judge what was wrong from right.

If I've learned anything from TV.. it's that they must do a rape-kit on her within a certain amount of time for there to be any useable evidence in court. And since you two didn't even have sex, then even if she did go to get a rape kit (which she probably won't anyway), she would look like a fucking idiot when there is nothing found there.

Unless her and her boyfriend happened to have some rough sex shortly after you two were together... But still, there is a short time limit on the rape-kit, on they would have to have had REALLY rough sex for it to look like she was raped.

But the worst part is the social stigma that you could face regardless of whether this even gets to court or not...

She'll say she fought him off or ran away, which is very difficult to disprove. With her word against yours, and the fact that you were both drunk (the thing that'll get siezed upon here is that she was drunk, and therefore incapable of making decisions; the fact that you were just as drunk merely means that you made the decision to rape her).

It should be okay, though, there's more awareness of false rape claims now and if there's no evidence except her word against you it's actually more likely the case will get thrown out.

A rape kit is definitely out of the question, as this incident occurred over a week ago (and as to why she's making a big fuss of it now rather than last week, I'm clueless).

I realize that it is virtually impossible to prove anything, but being accused of attempted rape is still a pretty big accusation and the social stigma is definitely something I worry about....this whole thing brings to mind the Duke lacrosse case and how it affected those guys in their social lives, careers, etc.

I'm hoping this whole thing will blow over-- I recently found out that she's on probation for an assault charge which right there should take away any of her credibility, in addition to the fact that she was drinking, popping xanax, and possibly under the influence of marijuana (all of which I'm sure her probation officer would LOVE to know about). For these reasons, in addition to the fact that I'm obviously innocent, I would think this should be enough to prevent her from going to the police, but if she doesn't shut her mouth, I fear that one of her friends or something will feel it's their civil duty to take action.

As shitty of a situation as this is, at least it happened in a different state several hours away with people I don't know...I can't imagine the consequences if this happened on my campus.

I know that attempted murder is illegal, I just wasn't sure what else is illegal when only attempted... I mean, I've just never heard anything about someone getting charged with attempted rape. Assault maybe, as a result of the force being used, but how can you prove that someone was actually trying to rape you unless there was penetration? It seems to me that it would just look like assault...

And since he obviously wasn't actually trying to hold her down or force himself on her, then there would be absolutely no marks or "signs of forced entry" (for lack of better terms) on her body anywhere.

So how would anyone, even an eye witness, know that his intentions were to rape her... Unless he said "I'm going to rape you now." and THEN she fled the scene.

But in the case of this thread, she didn't decide until a week later that it was rape anyway...

From what I can imagine, her case is shoddy at best.

You "attempted" to rape her...Yahah...If that's the case, a significant amount of time has passed where she could have sought legal action. But she didn't.

They will test you, test her and they will find that there is none of your bodily matter in her minge. Unless she started crying during sex. In which case that's not only disturbing but could make things a little more difficult.

If you can get some backup from people who were around at the time, that could make things a lot easier if the shit does hit the fan.

Well here's an update thus far:

She's saying all kinds of crazy slanderous bs via facebook, posting it on my wall so the public can see.

I got home from work today and had 5 posts of this, which I deleted immediately, and removed her as a facebook friend to prevent her from doing it again.

After that, she left several messages in my inbox, continuing to harass me.

...so in conclusion, a girl at this level of maturity is likely not capable of filing a police report.

she just wants attention or she is worried about some other guy. i wouldnt worry about it AT ALL. i dislike girls like this, they need to fucking grow up. this whole thing will blow over in a couple days AT MOST when some other girl tries to pull the same shit

If I were you I'de start working out a way to roll her infront of the police.

If you can make her contradict herself in some way, the police are definately going to question her credibility.
