Default Good places for a date?

Y Hullo thar everybody

I was just wondering where some good places to hang out with your significant other are? I don't have any money, so my choices are limited.

All I have got so far is:

beach (im a shit swimmer)
ice skating (we both like ice skating, costs money though)
shopping (costs money)
movies (costs money, little communication)

What are some other good places for a date/just to hang out? I wish I could be more impromptu in going out with her but that isn't an option so I need ideas of actual places where to go.

Cheers

Well, you don't have to swim at the beach. :) You could play a game, build a sand castle together, just walk along the shore.

Well, I find that whenever I goto the movies with my girlfriend, we usually get something to eat either before or after, and that has a good amount of communication in there. Sometimes we might talk during the movies too, especially the long boring parts.

If money is a worry, then yeah, the beach is a good idea. Like Khepri said, there's many things one can do down there aside from swimming. And as an added bonus, it can be romantic too.

Then again, you could just go to her place, or her come to yours, and watch movies, play games, or whatever other things come to mind. Hell, you could even go for a walk together down to a nearby park or something.

In short, money isn't a huge constraint when it comes to dating. You just have to be creative!

Goto a genuine Pizzeria. I don't know why, but I always see that as the best place for a first date, or any date.
None of that Pizza Hut shit either. The real pizzeria's are the ones with the red and white pattered tablecloth, candles, and a owner that's an old Italian guy with a Mario mustache. Took a girl to a pizzeria back in gr 8 to 9 summer. Best date of her life.

Beach is classic, always a good date idea. The standard coffee date usually works too.

If you have anything like a boardwalk near where you live, I'd do that up. I usually go to this bar at the beach and have a few drinks while watching the sunset...if you have a boat, this also works well in my experience.

Mini golf is a good one too.

Anything but the movies.

This is prolly the best place if you want her on you all the time. The other traditional shit like the movies and beach that's all crap you're wasting your time with.

Picnics. Preferably off in the woods or fields a long ways. Until you feel you might possibly be lost. And then have a picnic, make out since you're nowhere, and try to get back. Shared panic and confusion begets closeness.

Note: Not a good first date / date for paranoid chicks, who will think you want to rape them.

Also fun: Trespassing! I love it. Take some cameras if she's into art/photography, and find some old / abandoned / usually empty building / park / factory / house / huge drainage tunnels and explore them thoroughly. Possibly cuts down on kinkyness though cause you will probably be all dirty, and who knows whats now all over your hands. Depending on how/where you go that is.

People watching: Go sit on a bench talking in some city / crowded area (easiest in a big city / college campus) and make random observations on random people / their habits / fashion sense.

museums - if its something shes interested in.
chinatown.

Convince her to be more random and go swimming in a fountain somewhere. swimming / wading really. She will never forget said date.

10$ will get you a cheap bottle of wine. Split it with her. 10$ more will get a baguette and some cheeses.

Go shopping at some outlandishly expensive store, try on everything, pretend to be rich and sophisticated, and then leave early.

There's free events at your local library / community center / such. Look into them.

Play random games. Put a blindfold on her and lead her around for hours. Develops trust, and conversation. Suprise her at the end with.... anything. A single rose, a random field of flowers behind the local greenhouse, she should understand the point was in the journey, not the location.

Go fishing. It's so boring it forces you to talk. Plus, she may need all sorts of help.

Take a boat out on a lake or something. Borrow a kayak and hit the ocean, or some such. Privacy naturally leads to conversation.

Oh, and you can play minigolf anywhere. Like in the mall, or on the street, or the courthouse steps, or anything. Find some putters and golfballs (for some reason, we always have a dozen at my house, and none of us ever golf). For added fun, use the bouncyballs from the quarter machines. Aim for cars. Or something.

Watch tv? I know, it sounds lame, but me and this one ladyfriend always got together at night, curled up, and watched something. Mostly wordless, yet still marvellous. Try it once and see if it works.... It's more likely to work at 2 in the morning though.

Cards, candyland, halo, or life. You know her, decide which it is.

Shopping - thrift stores are ubercheap, and typically there's not very much worth buying. And the amusing things per shelf / rack is abnormally high.

Dress up in your most formal garb and go wander somewhere. All girls like to dress up / be pretty / all that.

Bike ride. If she (or you) aren't all that athletic, trails by canals are typically a very slight downhill the entire way, you just have to arrange to be picked up at the other end.

Or just invite her along to whatever else you are doing that day. Automatically more fun. Unless its shopping for a new hemorrhoid cream, but....

G'luck

You don't need to go swimming to have a nice date on the beach. If you go around dusk, bring a blanket and maybe a nice bottle of wine it can be absolutely perfect. Shopping really isn't such a great idea for a date and if she insists on it, she's too materialistic. I think a movie is a good idea only when there's something out that you both really want to see.

One "date" I have always really loved is just cooking a meal together, even if neither of you can really cook. You get to hang out, have fun and have some really great conversation if you manage not to light something on fire. Even if the food turns out terrible, you can still have a really good night.

Excellent spot indeed. I took the girl there, dressed up in a suit, drank red wine and utilized every possible moment to quote 'the raven'. I even acted all arrogant and aloof.

She wore denim shorts and thongs and thought we went to a nursery at first. Still a nice date though.
