Default Did he get scared/nervous or did he forget?

I have been dating this guy for three months, we went to prom together and we get along really well. We started getting serious a week after prom and dated into the summer until he had to go away to Governors school. This has been hard for me to handle because I didn't open up in highschool until the very end of my senior year, so not many people got to see my true colors. I had a lot of friends but I didn't get too close. This had meant I have had a pretty dull summer, because I don't get invited places by any of my classmates. He had been gone for three weeks and came back this weekend for the break they get.

So he said he wanted to see me, and asked which day would work better for me, "tonight or tomorrow during the day?" I said that it really didn't matter and that he should choose. After 5 minutes of contemplating it, he answered tomorrow and I automatically knew why. His friends, which had already went and saw him at Governors school, wanted him to come to a party that night. So basically, I am partly sad/angry that he chose drinking and acting like assholes with his friends that he had seen already. The other part of me is jealous because he gets called as soon as he gets home for the weekend to do something, while I am have been pulling 45 hour weeks at work to keep myself busy. I don't know what to do about this... Should I say anything? It's happened twice before as well.

Second, during the phone calls we had while he was away he said that he had something important to tell me, but it could only be told in person. I saw him today, we had a really good time, but he never brought it up. I didn't feel like I should ask either because if it was as important as he made it out to be he surely couldn't have forgotten to say it, could he? He's going back to Governors school for 3 more weeks, so it's not like tomorrow he will be able to tell me.

Totse, if you could help explain this to me that would be nice. I don't know if I am over-analyzing or anything.

1) What the fuck is governors school?

2) He didn't get scared/nervous and he didn't forget, he's being a man and saying anything and everything possible to get laid. That's how we roll.

3) Of course he's going to chose drinking over you. But if I was him, I'd choose drinking BEFORE you, then I could see you and you'd look much prettier and I'd be more turned on. It would work for both of us.

4) Seriously, if you have problems in the relationship, talk to him. If that's impossible, you guys aren't ready for the relationship and you need to break up.

5) If you're lonely, get a hobby. Bring your dog to the park and interact with other dog walkers. Take up French. Fuck, if you can't figure out how to make friends, welcome to the end of your life.

Hopefully I can offer you a better answer than Rykoshet. I rekon he must be tripping out today or somethin'

Firstly, just because he chose to go drinking on that night doesn't mean that he was avoiding you or preferred to go and get hammered. If I were him, I'd probably do the same, since it meant I could spend time with my friends, then spend the entire day afterwards with my girlfriend. It can seem like pretty stupid reasoning, but there is method in the madness, I assure you.

As for the whole phone thing where he said he had something to tell you, that can be good or bad. Of course, it could mean that he wants to tell you that he's found somebody else who he likes more than you. I could understand his logic if this were to be the case, since it would mean that there'd be more chance of there being some civility as opposed to telling you over the phone. That, of course, doesn't mean that that's what he wanted to say. It could be that he realized that he loves you. That's always something that's best for both guys and girls to say face-to-face. Or it could be something entirely different.

If it was truly important, he would have remembered to tell you. Of course, that begs the question as to if he was nervous and backed away. Did you notice anything strange about his body language? If so, he could very well have gotten the cold feet at the last minute. If it wasn't so important as you might believe it to be, he could very well have forgotten. If it's really important, the chances of him forgetting exist, but they are slim.

I'd think you should ask him what it was ASAP. From what I understand, he's still around, so you should get him to tell you before he leaves. He wouldn't be much of a man to just leave you hanging, after all. If you ask him what it was he wanted to tell you, if he backs away then, I think you could, however sadly, assume the worst.

Hope it all works out

I got some shrooms. I never do shrooms, but I'm out of weed (and after a month of sobriety I'm coming back to drugs and alcohol and cigarettes of all sorts, so it's going to be a BIG welcome back party). Where was I? Oh yeah, I took a lot of shrooms. Which is stupid because I have no tolerance, having just nibbled on a tiny little one before. Back to my rant.

What he wanted to tell you was that he found someone else. However, when he saw you, he figured it would be better to cheat on you, since this way, he can get twice the pussy, and if he told you, he'd only get once the pussy. So that's why he didn't tell you. If you confront him now, he'll say something stupid like "oh, I just wanted to tell you how your eyes shimmer in the evening sun". Either way, it'll blindside you and you'll bend over and let him assfuck you.

Really, if it's a long distance relationship, don't bother. He's not gonna stay faithful unless he's a weak scumbag, in which case, you don't want him anyway. And you're either not gonna stay faithful, or become a prude and never ever lose your virginity.

My monitors are coming to life, I'm going to go hide under the covers until this trip is over. CYA in a while.

Governor's school is a school/camp in the summer in NC where two students, usually a boy and a girl, from each school in the state go to study more indepth English, Science, or the Arts for 6 weeks. Second off, I know how to make friends, I have many of them. They just aren't close enough to invite me places or want to hang out, as I said earlier. And I am not a virgin... so good job trying to have me all figured out.

There was some differences in his body language. He kept kissing me, but it wasn't just on the lips like usual. He's not one to show emotion alot, he's rather stand offish because he fears being seen as vulnerable. He was kissing my cheeks, forehead, neck, and arms just at random times while we were watching TV. Also, this may sound not important, but he laid on top of me with his head on my chest with his eyes peacefully glazed over while I rubbed his back. He's never done that before, and for someone who doesn't like to seem vulnerable, he seemed pretty vulnerable to me.

@Rykoshet: Ahh, that explains it then.

@sirlicksalot: Judging from that behaviour, I think he might've been missing you a lot. I can actually relate to his character a lot, in terms of not being one to show weakness of vulnerability. And on those grounds, I can tell you the only time I've ever let down my guard around anyone, is with the woman I love. I don't know if that's the case with him, but it very well might be. I'd say you should talk to him. It'd be worth the slight inconvinence, as opposed to keeping on wondering.

he's cheated on you, been cheating, or trying to cheat

or

he hasn't cheated yet but wants to experience other girls

I'm sorry, but when a guy refuses to talk about something *inless it's face-to-face...it's usually not good news on your part.

I tell it like it is.

This man knows what's up. He really isn't being 100% honest, I can guarantee that. Whether it's for the better or worse, well, I'd say he's up to no good.

To keep everyone up to date, I nearly raped my pillow to death while I was under my covers. I played some video games now, and boy was that a trip. Forget 70" plasmas or high definition, if you want video games to REALLY COME TO LIFE, you better have some acid or shrooms. I was afraid to answer the pizza man because I thought he was godzilla, so I slid the money under the door....

Whoah.

You don't really have a right to get mad at him for not seeing you first. He asked you which day was better for you and you just turned the question around on him.

Seeing as how he normally doesn't do this that often as you say. I wouldn't really be worried too much that it was something bad. If he acts like this after he said he has something to tell you, I wouldn't think it would be too bad. Now if he acted distant or edgy or something then I would be worried. But like Manticore said you should ask him right away. Its worth it. Best of luck to you.

We talked last night and he said that I was the best part of his weekend. He seemed very quiet, and shy about something and he usually isn't like that. He's just acting strange, and I find it comforting in a way, but confusing and worrisome in another. I asked him if he had still wanted to tell me what he was wanting to tell me for three weeks, and he said, "Don't worry about it too much. When the time is right I will tell you, I promise." and quickly changed the subject. He said it calmly and with an uncomfortable little laugh inbetween some of the words.

He had said something after prom two months ago that if either one of us liked someone else or didn't feel the way we once did anymore, that we should tell eachother immediately. I don't know if he is avoiding the subject, or if it isn't anything bad.

He's cheating you dumb bitch.

Sorry, let me further explain why you're a retard.

You say he's acting "strange, out of the ordinary, etc" and you find it "comforting?" Jesus Christ, you can't fake this kind of stupidity.

Are you fucking retarded or honestly just oblivious?

Let me tell you something about cheaters, and people in general. They tell you what you want to hear, especially if they think they can get something from you.

At work, when my coworkers are bullshitting out of their ass about stupid suggestions they have about the project, I don't tell them to STFU and GTFO, I have to say "That's a very good idea, but how about we modify it a little so that we end up doing this". If I told them to STFU, I'd get shitcanned, and I don't want to lose my job.

Same thing with girlfriends. If I tell you "I'm cheating on you, get lost", I can't get anything from you. If I lie out of my ass, especially if you're as idiotic as you appear, you'll fall for it and blow me all summer, and then I'll be free to say "I have no more use for you, get lost".

Do you need diagrams?

EDIT: Specifically about the "best part of the weekend comment". I'm every girl's "first and best time", and every girl that's ever fucked me has been the "best and only one". It's a game we like to play.

Why do you feel you need to repeat almost the same post four times in one thread? I think I got your point, I am not illiterate. I can read very well actually. I think the only one who needs diagrams is you because obviously the drugs you take aren't doing you any good. And yes, I do find it comforting when someone who is normally stand-offish and keeps to himself is acting really cuddly, in need of attention, and to some extent, vulnerable.

Because you just don't get it and you just don't listen.

Everyone in this thread, more or less, has told you he's shitting you, yet you want to believe things you way.

Typical female behaviour.

you have to straight up force him to spit it. Say something like "I know what's going on here but I want to hear it from you" not in those exact words, but you'd get the idea. Don't let him change the subject. Make him think that you know whats'up, or feel bad about what he's hiding. seriously, quit giving him enough space to keep pushing the subject away for his own personal comfort!
