A few days ago I showed my friend some gameplay footage of Team Fortress 2, and he said, "this is going to be just like Halo." At first, I didn't think he could be serious, but I now realize that he probably has never played any other FPS and believes Halo is some kind of seminal multiplayer game that other developers try to imitate. I, being much more knowledgeable about FPS games, was shocked. It saddens me that he was thinking so narrowly and did not realize the vast differences between the games. I hope gamers of my generation will stop worshiping Halo and see the beauty of other games that came before it and upcoming games with original concepts.

Personally, I am psyched for Team Fortress 2, and I'm getting Orange Box for the 360 on it's release day. I'm also looking forward to Halo 3 just because I have had some good times playing Halo 2 with my friends, but I probably won't get it until it has been out for a few months.

Which game do you believe will be a more fun multiplayer experience?

TF2 will own your soul. Halo 3 won't even be in the same league as Team Fortress 2. I also will be getting it day one (along with TheThirdBullet),so we should all play on there (gamertag if interested).

Team Fortress 2 is going to have classes and variety on those classes like specific weapons,health,ect ect. What's Halo 3 going to have,a bunch of people pressing the jump and grenade button simultaneously like the 2nd game?


Don't worry though,I know a million people who say things like "this is like GTA" to any sandbox game the same way your friend does with Halo,so I know exactly what you mean. At least some of your friends didnt tell you it was "gay" because it looked cartoony

I'd say that Halo 3 will be fun until every 9 year old in the country has it.

Or Bioshock.

Or Crysis.

As for the idiots who think Halo is "innovative", point them in the direction of Tribes. It did pretty much everything Halo did but better and years earlier.

I just pray 360 and PC don't share multiplayer. I mean, I'm not one for leading a ritual mass murder, but whiney 10 year olds who're given a free microphone with the game drive me over the edge/

I agree, but I can't convince my friends that TF2 is better than Halo if I only have it on the computer. It's not like they have competent rigs or even understand the concept of LAN. For this reason I must present it to them in the console form. Though, a benefit of playing it on the 360 is using my large television.

Are you telling me you don't have a video cable to send video output to your TV?

Fuck VGA, get a DVI to HDMI converter and play it over HDMI. Better for watching movies, but still....
