Default 6.2 swap into a jeep performance questions

I just bought a project 83 jeep cj7 with 38 inch tires. There's no drive train in it right now but the guy had a gm 350 in it so its already been converted to chevy motor mounts. I've been throwing around the idea of putting a 6.2 in it being my friend has and old 3/4 ton chevy with a 6.2 with the sm465 tranny and np208 t-case. I really know nothing about diesels. am I to understand that a 6.2 uses the same motor mounts as a small block? also i know banks makes a turbo kit for the 6.2 but thats expensive and i've been doing a lot of reading lately about building turbo kits for gas motors. So would a twin turbo set up have any advantage over the single turbo set up? Also what kind of performance can you get out of a 6.2 other than turbo charging. will they hold up to nitrous and propane injection? I'd also be doing a rebuild on this so what kind of internal performance parts do they make for 6.2s? I've done some searching on google but I can't really find anything thats helpful. this is getting kind of long so i'll end it here. Thanks for any imput.

Yet another thread along the lines of how to make a kia fast and how to turbo a 250 bike.

We do get tired of discussing in depth the dream vehicles that some people come up with.

how is this a dream build up? I have the jeep I have access to the diesel drive train. I'm just asking a simple question of whether it would be worth doing. I'm only asking because its an option but like I said I don't know much about diesels and diesel performance and i have no idea if you can get any performance out of a 6.2L. I see you reply to a lot of peoples post with your bull shit asshole replys. What makes you such a douche bag? If you don't know an awnser don't post. Its as simple as that. Just because you think you're better than everyone else doesn't mean you actually are. Now does anyone have a helpfull response?

I don't know much about diesels. But considering I might be getting a Suburban with a 6.5, I'd kinda like to see this answered too.

Ok, if I'm so full of bullshit just do the swap and take plenty of pics to prove me wrong.

The bullshit asshole replies are usually to people who never have any real plans other than big talk and so far no pics have been posted to prove me wrong.

maybe you should read the rules to posting in gear heads. But i'm not going to argue with you anymore. But please don't post replys to my questions unless you have some possitive imput. If i do the diesel swap i will post pictures not to prove anyone wrong but just because that way i can share some of my projects. I'll be picking my new 83 larado project up later this week and i will take some pictures of it. My reasoning behind the 6.2 diesel swap is better fuel mileage. I found a site tonight just on converting jeeps to diesels so now i know its doable but that still leaves part of my question un awnsered, what kind of performance mods are there for 6.2 diesels? I did a little looking on ebay too and found out I can get a 6.5 for around $1000 for a long block. But that leaves me without a lot of the parts. the 6.2 only makes 130 horse so the 6.5 is looking better but a little more expensive and i've heard the injector pump is prone to failure. any imput? and please no negative replies.

If I had a Jeep setup for a Small Block Chevy a 6.2 n/a would be the last motor on my mind. First on my mind would be a 383 stroker. ive never seen any performance parts for a 6.2 in my life other than what Banks has. A gas SBC would be a smarter choice. but hey don't let my thoughts discourage you.

&T is not a performance parts website so you really should try using a search engine for your performance parts.

so far after doing a little more research and asking around on the diesel forums most people say a 6.2 or 6.5 will have more than enough power and i'd like to go the diesel route. This will be my second cj. The first one was a 78 cj7 360 amc th400 and quadratrac t-case had 4 1/2 inch lift with a 2 inch body lift and 33inch thornbirds. And i'd have to say out of all the vehicles i've owned it was by far the funnest. I don't know what it is about jeeps but i love them. this time I want to do something completely different though and that whay i want to go the diesel route. Plus i saw a suburban on one of the diesel forums that had 4:10 gears 36 inch tires, 4 speed and a stock 6.2 with the injector pump turned up and the guy was getting 18mpg with it. I had an suburban with 36's and a tbi 350 with 3:73 gears and i got 2-4mpg with it. so a jeep should do pretty good being how light they are. and if you don't believe me on the suburban heres a pic of it

that thing looks nice and old skool.. maybe some bigger tires would make it look like a monster. lol. not suprised on the 2-4mpg on it.

my dad had a v8 jeep back in the day.. 70s or somethin.. loved it too.

ya the burg was cool.... had 11 inches of lift would have cleared 40's... the back window even rolled down with the switch in the dash i was always going to redo it and put avalanche badges on it but the tranny went out and the motor was on its last lims with a bad cracked head at the end of its life. ended out parting it out awhile back. Buddy of mine bought the body and suspension i think he's gonna make a pulling truck out of it for all the state fairs. Atleast when i was still driving it gas was only like $2.25 a gallon... still cost damn near $100 to fill the tank.
