Okay so I used to make threads like this all the time. I need to make another.

Currently I am single and fed up with the 'singles scene' which is basically non-existant here anyhow. I no longer want to go out, yet can't help myself because I get thinking the one time I don't go out might be that one night I find a certain someone.

I also am critical of how things between me and someone I like becoming 'us' for the long term. I mean I might sound like an asshole in admitting it but I have my standards. What are the chances of me and the girl of my dreams working at the same time, in jobs we both like/are good at in the same area?

Things like that make me think about throwing potential relationships away a long time before it got to that because I don't want the time to go to waste as it were.

Things such as that I believe are seriously holding me back...but not in my mind as I want something to work, have it last and work really well.

What is the go? It's not going to happen is it? I mean I have to downgrade expectations to find 'love' even though it might not suit and be perfect...right? And if I want it I'll have to sieve through the crap to get there. Egh I dunno.

When I used to make these back in 2005 :p every couple of months people would say take a break and get back 'in the game' feeling fresh to it all.

Theres no such thing as soulmates.

You just find people you're compatible with and build a loving relationship from that.

Or if you do believe in soulmates, then you kind of have to take into account that the fates are working to get you two together.

I don't get it :/

Might just be my jilted take on things, but the "takes hold of my tongue" makes me think 'bite your tongue' for things and just to make do, to settle with what one can get.

The girl of your dreams might not even work. What's important is no matter what you've gotta be open to meeting girls.
