Default dealing with a break up

Well...me and my girlfriend just broke up.....actually she pretty much dumped me. Had been together seven months, everything was good...then from out of left field it ends. and I actually didnt do anything wrong....she says she doesnt love me as much as I love her. I think she's misjudged my love for her....over estimated....regardless....she gave me a few shitty lines, and i know theres something else she's not telling me.

I basically have two options when dealing with a break up.

1) I can self destruct.
2) I can self-improve.

I have decided to do both. the first two days, which are almost over, I am binge drinking and abusing substances...which isnt a big change for me...but I'm stepping it up a notch. I'll get fucked up and go as low as i can. Then...

I self improve. starting tomorrow or sunday I am getting my shit together. back to the gym, no more fast food, no more self destructive behavior. going to get back into my fighting shape....which I never shouldve gotten out of.

Normally I would just self destruct and go on a really good bender and slowly deteriorate, instead of improve myself.

I don't have time to dwell on what could've been and feel sorry for myself. Game on.

Good on you man.
Dont believe these fucking Fight Club wankers saying that self-improvement is bad for you.

I've just had a break up too.
Dude. fuck the self destruct shit. There's no point. Start doing things right now.
Drinking makes shit so much worse, there really isn't that much point to it.

I know what you mean about fighting shape. I'm so much worse off then I was when I met the chick. I'm weak as shit right now.
I'm going to move on, re-joining the gym, moving residences (on campus, so it ain't that hard) and just generally leaving that part of my life behind.
It was over a year long too 14 months or so, it hurts, but it hurts less now then it did one, two days ago.

It probably couldn't have been you know?
Fuck don't dwell on it. Love is strong, the fact that you broke up means there was probably some fatal flaw that would have come up later anyway.
Me? my girlfriend was essentially a little too "free" a spirit, I'm simply too conservative. Not talking about poltics obviously.
We loved each other, boy oh boy we did, and still do, but it wasn't going work now or ever.
I'm glad it happened now rather then in (god forbid) 5 or 10 years time.

im now on day 3 after the break up....it really didnt affect me too much the first two days...I kinda thought there was a chance we could get back together and was optimistic....but Ive come to realize that isnt very likely to happen. earlier today was pretty rough on me....couldnt stop thinking about her and the situation...i was hurting bad...but now a few hours later, after talking to my best friends, i feel good....well, not good. but not bad. As I said in my original post, I had the feeling that there was something she wasnt telling me. I confirmed that by breaking into her facebook account (I know I shouldnt have). There was a conversation between her and friend, dated 4 days before she dumped me....basically said she knows that she doesnt love me. says she dreams about her ex every night and cant get over him, etc....btw, I stole her from him when they were dating. I kinda expected something like this to happen, but not after the 6 month period....

Still regardless, tough break dude.
