Default Question on behalf of ex mod...

I was talking to Valmont in pm and he mentioned that he recently got internet completely back. I suggested if he really want to mod again to tell send me an email asking exactly what he wants and I'd post it here.

Obligatory email in which I humbly request returning to active mod-duty in the Temple of the Screaming Electron. I'm back with frequent net access and the form has restabilized to actually being there (I went through a loss of net *right* after it went back online). I have experience in Sex and Affection, Printed Matter and My God (however brief), but I'd also be open to Science of the Damned or ...and rock and roll. stay bad

I won't speak for the other mods of AR&R, but I think adding another mod there would be sort of useless.

I can't speak for the other forums though.

I agree, another mod should only be added if it's needed, not just because somebody wants to be a mod again.

I'll either let the appropriate person tell him or pass on the news myself when a decision is made. It was requested, so here it is.

I can't see the reason to mod someone else, but at the same time we do need ACTIVE mods. I have heard of some problem spots when it comes to that.

I know he was a good mod before he had to back down.

He came back a few months ago and claimed the exact same thing about IRC. He said "Hey, I've got internet back and I'm looking for something more to do with my day. Can you give me my half-operator status back?" I said, "Well, I don't really NEED another half-op, but I guess." What do you know, he disappears for a few months. Before that, he did the same thing to me on the BBS, but I denied it because I had a feeling he was going to disappear again.

My vote goes to no because he's just going to disappear in a few weeks... again.

I'll pass it on, I think if that's how it is. It's for the best. Can I quote you Zok?

Printed Matter doesn't need anybody; it has two active moderators. Val's always welcome to post. It's not like your time is fuller as a moderator than as a regular, in most forums.

Is this a joke?

I know I'm a little late on this one, but if my vote counts for anything....

Zok: I will seriously wake you up in the middle of the night EVERY this fall to the sound of "My Adidas" by Run DMC.

The guy is COMPLETELY disgusting. He is a habitual liar who makes a SPORT out of lying to people about their friends, in an attempt to ruin their friedships, relatioships, lives, etc etc. Maybe he's a good mod or something, but we have to draw the line somewhere.

I don't think that any of that has anything to do with his ability to moderate.

That aside, someone should not be modded (regardless of prior mod status) just because they want to be.

He may well have been a good mod on the 'Harry Potter Bed wetter Fan Club' forum. Certainly when he was demodded from both his forums over the 'My God' debacle there was a ground swell of support and a petition to have him reinstated for 'Printed Matter'. I assume thats why he was then reinstated for that forum.

I find it worrying he lists'My God' among his experiences as his performance there...well lets just say that none of us involved in the debacle covered ourselves in glory (especially me). Should LC feel My God needs another mod then there are several deserving posters, Hare Geist, Angry femme to name but two of several. Also sephiroth has an unrivaled knowledge of certain areas.

As to S&A...no just no. He was demodded there for a reason. The few times he was there he was a good poster but again we have any number of good regulars far more deserving. If S&A needed another mod ,and it doesn't, then personally I'd like to see either Mr Happy or wires modded but even more I'd want it to be an 'election'(yes wires, I've reread some of your posts and maybe I was abit harsh in my comments although I still don't think you should be a super mod).

What I meant is Toraton, do we want to entrust a forum to a guy with such a terrible track record?

Yeah S&A is cool as it is. I feel that if there were to be another mod needed, KaTe, Mr Happy, Da Guru Mad or Rykoshet could be suitable. Rather than a person who doesent sound all that reliable as a mod.
I know forums arent babies, but they do need to be checked to make sure they're breathing every few hours.

Yeah I agree I was just making a point.
