Default my ideas immigration laws and current ideas.

Well, I was watching the news today and happened to find a town hall debate on this topic. Thought I would say my ideas on the issue, see what others think.

Every time I turn on the news, I happen to find some
group of people mostly made up of Mexicans trying to boycott something because of some new ordnance, or idea on how to solve this county's problems. Most of the time it's because a city or state passes a English only ordnance or statute. Now every time this happens people call is racist, and go on about how it hurts all the people of the race; documented or not.
This is about the time I get mad and yell at the TV and storm off because some "Latino" leader is saying how his people are being oppressed. Let me just start this argument by saying I do not want to oppress people of Mexican descent. If you work hard, pay your bills, try to speak good English, and know that the United States of America is your new home and take the oath of citizenship, let me shake your hand. However if you jump a fence then expect me to pay for you medical needs, to support you, and to give you things only a person with US citizenship should get, you are very wrong. Yet over twenty million people demand this every day, even though they are breaking our laws. Not only did the enter the country wrongfully, they smuggle drugs, guns, and people in to my homeland. In every sense of the word, they are invading the country I love. They fill out streets with armed gangs who murder, rape, and steal. The men and women who do this, do not care about the USA. So what does the government for the people, by the people do; they cater to the invader.
Some even go as far to say that the saying "We will take the poor, tired, weak and weary" applies to people who break our laws. This is true, we will take your poor and sick, tired and hungry; if you go though the proper channels. The millions of Irish, French, German , and Italians who came in the 1900's, went though Ellis island. They all took a oath, and sent their sons and husbands to die for this land when they were called upon. The people invading this country never took that oath, and never will send their kin. Yet, they want free health care, money, and so much more. It is and always will be an insult to the millions of people who file papers and forms, if we just give others what honest people work hard for.
I say enough of insulting this land! We as true Americans
have the power to fight this, forget what spineless bureaucrats say! It is time we fix this nations borders, even if it is one brick at a time.

note: sorry for grammar and spelling errors

our healthcare system and social security programs are already near-collapse. These people crossing the borders and taking advantage of america are just catalysts for the already inevitable collapse of our programs. If we can keep the mexicans out, we can probably fix the programs before they collapse.

I completely agree with you.

All very nice and unimportant.

The number one issue greater than immigigration reform or even gay marriage (I know thats very important) is eliminating corruption in government through the power of the vote given to us by our democracy. NUMBER ONE ISSUE. Everything else is a moot point until that one is solved. In order to do it more people have to vote.

eliminating corruption in government, is a very key issue, however i was not looking at that when i made this.

However to call this topic unimportant, is wrong. This is very important, and is a key issue in who will be the next leader.
You may not like what I said, but the fact is Illegal immigration is something we all have to deal with.

You ARE correct it is an important issue. It is the new hot-button issue. That is my point. Hot-Button issues (That is to say issues which MOST americans know something about thanks to the media bombardment of the issue) serve imo as filler and a deversion to what is REALLY the MOST important of issues.

That being said while immigration reform is a REAL issue and is important it is counter-productive to what Americans should be educating themselves on and demanding from thier media and leaders.

I said it was unimportant b/c until we fix the leadership and corruption in our government what is the point. The mexicans can take this country over for all I care if we cannot take back control of our leadership and government.

If your opinion of illegal immigrants wasn't so dripping with undertones of racism and you didn't keep trying to justify that with anecdotal evidence, I would be much more inclined to agree with you. And the bullshit nationalism. I don't think if someone crosses your imaginary line that they are any less of a human being.

However, if we are going to keep up with this system of nations and borders, I find it completely within reason to build a goddamn fence. Give the ones that are here amnesty and let them become good hard working taxpayers, and secure the border so more can't come through without getting noticed.

Unnecessary animosity doesn't help.

Border security and immigration are 2 seperate issues. Let's address them as such:

First, border security. Unfortunately, even if the borders were well-secured, people would still find ways to sneak into the country. The US has almost 7,500 miles of borders. It's impossible to completely secure that much land. Not to mention coasts, etc. That doesn't mean we shouldn't do our best to secure the country from people coming here when they shouldn't be, (both illegal aliens and terrorists, etc.) but that isn't going to solve the problem.

Next, immigration. One option that I almost never see mentioned is simply to cut social programs. The immigrants are a boost to the economy, but they are also a drain on the services. So why not have the best of both worlds? Secure the borders, streamline the immigration process and end birthright citizenship so no one bothers coming here illegally and we can get a handle on who is here, and abolish all the social services these people are drains on. This would also be a big boost to the economy because we could lower taxes.

As usual, the problem here is too much government.
