....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
I've been flirting with this girl for quite sometime... I gave up after thinking she didn't share the same feelings. I was content on just staying friends, then all of the sudden, she tells me she likes me. So... I hang out with her a couple more times and we end up sleeping in her bed.
Literally... We just slept in her bed, cuddling. It was sort of nice... But, don't label me gay yet, &Totse, there's a reason why nothing more happened.
We're both 17, by the way. So, she's a complete virgin. I'm talking never been kissed. Never had a real boyfriend, the whole thing. Because of this, she doesn't read the signals I give. She's told me several times now that she's clueless to this sort of thing.
I mean, when we shared her bed, I was giving so many signals to her. I mean, I stroking her forearm, brushing her hair from her face, I even pressed my boner against her... and NOTHING. I even did the "put your hand on her cheek and nudge her" signaling that we should kiss. It's incredibly frustrating, AND, to add to this, she has a very bad anxiety problem.
I mean, it's crippling sometimes... She has an Anxiety Attack, and she feels like she's going to throw up (Which, she's been diagnosed with that phobia, I forget the name.. it's the 5th most common one. She'd rather die then throw up).
She gets back from visiting her grandma today, we planned to watch fireworks together, then watch a movie at my house. I told people told me to kiss her during the firework show... which sort of ruined it, I s'pose... But I still sort of want to.
This girl makes me feel completely lost. It's so weird, because not many have been able to do that. I hate having to be the one to lead, I don't know when it's a good time to give her a "First Kiss". With stuff like this I usually end up telling myself "just do it!", but I never do... then feel like shit later. I'm leaving Jul. 12 to visit NY for a few weeks... and she's leaving Jul. 18th to go to Cambridge (England) for a month... I want to ask her out.
&Totse, should I ask her out before she leaves, just to make an impression... So I don't lose her when we're apart. You think things will be different when she gets back, and do you think it's a good idea to rush things a bit... Just because we only have a few more days together?
AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, TELL ME HOW TO KISS HER.
As of right now, I plan to lay next to her on a blanket, when the fireworks start, she'll be laying next to me... I'll put my hand on her cheek, nudge her little, say "Hey..." in a quiet way, then lean in and kiss her. She's so shy with stuff like this. I'm sort of shy too.
Oh shit, should I don't know what kind of kiss I should do... Should I try kissing her more later in the night?
I'm sorry this is long, and not very well written... I'm just so confused... I want things to work because I've liked her for quite sometime... and, well, I feel like she could be the next big relationship I have... It feels so promising.
If you need any clarity, ask...

hmmm. I say just make her laugh alot... we already know that shes into you, but you dont wanna come across as being forward. so start by holding her hand, and take things slow. when the fireworks end grab her and pull her intowards you, hold her at the waist, and look her in the eyes, then say something romantic. that will be the time to kiss her.

Re: ....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
Nice story. I can tell this thread is probably going to attract a shitload of "Just kiss her you idiot" type comments, so I'm going to get in some useful advice before the thread gets swamped.
My suggestion for you, don't force the moment. Next time you're both just randomly staring into each others eyes, just gently stroke her face, and hint for the kiss. Perhaps by moving your head in closer to hers. It's very variant depending on the people, so I couldn't recommend the perfect way to do it. Or perhaps the next time you give her a hug, include a small peck on the cheek. After all, that can be taken as an innocent friendly gesture, or as a sign of interest.
I'd suggest telling her how you truly feel as soon as you can. From what you've described, I'd think a romantic relationship would suit you both pretty well. Just so long as you use tact and gentleness in your approach. So long as it's in a way that you'd both be comfortable with. Maybe when you're both alone, pehaps when you're both doing something you like doing together (watching a movie, having something to eat, whatever you guys do best together).
I think your plan for kissing her is a very good one. If she backs away from it, then just give her a hug and don't press the issue. Since you're both apparently shy about it, expect some awkwardness, but don't use it as an excuse.
I don't know what else to tell you dude. Just think of the best thing that can happen, and work towards it. If you need further advice, post away. I wish you the best!
BTW: I think you might actually love her. I'd suggest you think about that. It could give you that extra load of confidence and courage at your back.

When you're really close to her... just gently kiss her on the lips, you don't even have to be too forceful, just ease her into it.

Jesus man. Calm the fuck down first of all. This shit is going to be alright, because I am going to tell you exactly what to do with this girl.
First of all, it isn't her fault that she isn't reading your signals. If you were sleeping in the same bed, that would of been a good time for a kiss. Come right out and ask her. If there is a break in the conversation and it gets silent, say it off the cuff. If she says yes, then you kiss her. If she says maybe you kiss her. If she says no, you say, "I didn't say you could, it just looked like you had something on your mind."
Now practice that, because I know you will stumble over the words. It is the easiest way to know if a girl wants to kiss you, and I am pretty sure this girl has already thought about, and wanted to kiss you. So, now that you didn't capitalize on that situation you still have a golden opportunity.
At the fireworks show is the perfect time to kiss her, but it has to be during the fireworks, so don't wait until the end and lose your chance. Sit near her, sit on the hood of your car, whatever, but be close enough so you can look at her and be within kissing distance. She'll know what you are about to do, and if she wants to kiss you she will be ready when you are ready.
Then just kiss the bitch. How? I would say slowly, don't rush because you are going to be nervous, so always go slow. Tell yourself that, and don't use tongue I would say until she initiates it. You asking this question probably means you aren't vastly experienced so I would say just soft slow kisses just to give her a taste. See what happens from there, then go watch a movie.
I would even during the movie not kiss her at all, just to kind of rev her up. I would even try to pick a movie that would be more girlie as well to get her into the mood. Find a quiet place after the movie to talk, tell her how much I enjoyed kissing her and if I can do it again. Ect. I wouldn't say it like that, but you get the idea.
Just improvise. After that you have pushed the relationship far enough that she will be thinking about you when she is on her trip, and you her. So you will not have to worry about how close she is to you and if she will want to be with you when you get back.
That is how I would do it, and I hope you take my advice seriously. Lol ;)

Re: ....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
Ah, one more thing came to mind. If she backs away from you when you try to kiss her, (I was reading another guys post in this thread and I thought his advice was bad, but I won't name names.) don't worry about it. Apologize. Wait to see what she says, then respond. I won't go through all the possible scenarios. I'll leave that up to you. Visualize what is going to happen in your mind. Picture her asking questions, or acting a certain way, and how you can push the conversation where you want it to go. Think of her responses to your questions and how you can say something funny to that. Like the first guy said, always have her laughing so her mindset is in the right place when you kiss her.

If you're watching fireworks, stand behind her with your arms around her and kiss her gently on the neck, just below and behind her ear. If she looks around, smile and then kiss her on the lips. If she doesn't, you should be able to read from her body language if she liked it or not.
The only reason for doing this is if it feels really awkward kissing her face to face.

If she tenses up, that's a BAD thing. If she relaxes, and turs to putty in your hands, then she's more than likely enjoying it.

Re: ....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
Thanks for the advice, I read it all, and you guys do have some good ideas..
Ok, so I have talked to her about kissing her in the past, and she said "You should have". I know for a fact that she wants me to kiss her... As for the whole kissing her on the neck, I tried that when we were laying in bed.
I kissed her on her upper back, then slowly traveled to her neck, and she didn't move...
I'm not exactly in-experienced to this stuff, I've just never been working on girl so clueless. I've always been the type to give settle hints, then the girls gives more hints, and we slowly work from there. Not the guy who has to initiate all the first moves.
I told her I wanted to kiss her under fireworks, which means I'm not sure if I ruined it... She sort of expects it, so should I do it anyway, or just tease her then do it later in the night?
Again, thanks for all the replies.

Re: ....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
I'd say that when the fireworks start, and she looks ready for it, go in for the kill. There have been a few good suggestions in this thread on how to make it memorable, so no probs there. Just think up a plan. Once the moment comes, just remember that you know she wants you to kiss her, so you need not fear rejection or any sudden bad repercussions.
I wouldn't say you've ruined it. If anything, you've probably given her something to look forward to. I don't foresee any problems, so I'm thinking as long as all goes to plan, you should be absolutely fine.
Let us know how well it goes, mmkay?

Will do.
I think she's picking me up around 9pm, fireworks at 9:45, then we're going to grab something to eat, and come back to my place. If I can, at that time, I'll post the results.

Re: ....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
The funny thing is, in reality this chick is probably dying for you to kiss her but is hung up on making the first move because shes shy and thinks the guy should be the one to do it. So it really matters fuck all how you do it, because she will be so relieved to finally kiss you she won't care how it happened.
That said, if you're sitting side-by-side, try whispering something into her ear so she turns and looks at you. It doesn't matter what you say- even just telling her how everything sounds funnier when its whispered. Then when she holds your gaze, just move in slightly and kiss her on the lips.
Don't think about it, just do it. The more you think about it the harder it will be.

Re: ....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
Alright, since I didn't follow this up right after the firework show scheduled at 9:45 then I'm sure you guys have assumed that I didn't get to kiss her...
We were late. I'm not sure if she did it on purpose, but by the time we drove to the park to watch the festivities, they were almost over... So, we went to Steak and Shake, talked for a bit then came back to my place and watched a few movies.
We watched "Battle of Shaker Heights"... She got comfortable, laid next to me, I tried all my old moves... They weren't working, like usual.
Movie ends, I put in another one... "Tristan + Isolde".
Alright, so she's not really paying attention, and starts nestling her head on my shoulder about half way through... I finally think to myself "fuck it", and practically lift her head to make kissing possible (she's shorter then me, so she has to sort of look up), then do the deed.
We kissed, it was sloppy, I didn't mind, she didn't mind... We "lol'd" about it later. There was no tongue, just a soft core romantic kiss... She kept smiling, it was sort of cute I s'pose. When were done she goes "Oh my god, I've been waiting all night for that", then I say; "Well, I've been trying all night".
From there, we just cuddled, kissed a bit, talked, didn't watch much of the movie until it ended... Then we put in another movie ("Harriet the Spy" [Yeah, I have a weird movie collection]) just to have background noise, and continued just enjoying each other's presence. She said "I like you a lot"... I replied with "Be my girlfriend". We're now dating. Maybe I didn't mention it before, but we weren't...
I'm sorry if my writing is a little haywire, I've been awake for a good 20 hours and I'm still having a lot of thoughts settle in.
She went home at 5am, because she was afraid her parents would wake up and find that she was gone. She got home just in time.
Over all... A good night. I have to say, I did think about some of your posts while I was with her, and although there were some awkward moments... It went better then I expected.
One thing that's bothering me... She said "You have to be patient with me", while we were talking. She wouldn't tell me what she meant by it. I asked if she meant that "What, you mean we're not going to do it for a long time?", and she said that's not what she meant. I feel like she's telling me to take it slow with the more physical stuff, because I'm more experienced... But I just don't know. I wouldn't force myself on her or anything, but I'm not sure how, or what I should make of that. If I lead the relationship then it'll be expected for me to make the first move into the "new" for her. I pressed her to elaborate more, but she wouldn't, and told me to not worry about it. Maybe I shouldn't worry about it then?
Women are so fucking confusing.
Again, thanks for the posts, sorry for my tendency to ramble incoherently.

Cute :)
Go you!
My first real (not drunken) kiss was similar.
It was the last week of school and we were on a class trip.
And I ended up at the beach with the girl I liked.
So I layed for about 2 hours with my head in her lap and her head on my stomach.(it sounds weird, but it was very nice)
Then suddenly she gets up and holds me down and kisses me.
I had no idea how kisses were supposed to be so my lips remained kinda motionless and she was like "oh for fuck sake Bean, just kiss me!"
Then I was like "oh! youre supposed to use lips!"
And we kissed, it was cute.

Re: ....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
Cute :)
That sounds really nice...
After me and her kissed, she seemed to sort of be like the girl you described. She would randomly start kissing me, almost violently. It's very amusing.

Re: ....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
Huzzah! Excellent work man. Seriously, that story puts a smile on my face. :)
I'm thinking that she might be feeling a bit intimidated because you have an huge amount of experience compared t her. With a bit of time, and patience, it'll all be much clearer in the future. I have experience in that department. It's annoying and confusing as hell, but that's part of many relationships, I suppose.
I wish you both many good times ahead. And if ever you need more advice, you know where to drop by!

Kissing while she is half asleep, lol. As for everything else it seems to of worked itself out. Her telling you she wants you to be patient with her, just means don't get frustrated constantly that she isn't completely filled in on this whole "relationship" thing. You may be more experienced but do NOT let that make you act like an arrogant prick.
I hate arrogant guys, and if you become one, when I see you, I'll kick you in the nuts. (And if anyone points out some irony about me saying I hate arrogant guys, you are also getting kicked in the nuts!) Also, give her time to open up to you, how long have you known each other? How long would it take you to reveal a deep secret to someone? EH!? ONE KISSS!?! EH!? Lol, so don't push.

Alright...
I won't become an arrogant prick. Although I may of had past relationships, I'm also sort of shy, so I seem very new to the experience.
We've "known about" each other for maybe half a year. I can't say she thought that highly of me when we first met due to hearing some not so great rumors... But, once we started talking that all cleared up. I've revealed some deep secrets to her, you know, how I feel about certain things... There are more secrets that I'll share in time, but as of now, she's one of my best friends.
More then one kiss... and hopefully more tonight. I'm afraid that things might be awkward since last night. I mean, holy shit it was awkward when I walked her to her car last night. We walked out there and I didn't know if I should hold her hand or not, so I settled on wrapping my arm around her wait, and she just sort of looked at me. Then we got to her car, and she just stood there, then made a motion towards me, so I moved to her and she didn't know what to do and started to hug me so I pulled her close, and kissed her again while falling back on the car. It was very "rough".
What do you guys think, should I treat her like a full fledged girlfriend now? Hold her hand, walk up behind her and press myself against her, etc.? OR, should I do what I usually do and just act like friends when we first start hanging out, then by the end of the night I would of escalated to couple status?
CarbonB; You silly Canadians and your "Eh"s. (That was a joke... I get your reference. No need to kick me in the nuts.)

Re: ....This girl is bewildering. Help me out, please...
I dunno. From the sounds of it, the two of you are pretty affectionate with each other already (not necessarily in the physical sense, but yeah). I'd say it'd be safe to start holding her hand and such. Every couple has a different dynamic, and you just need to find the one that suits you two. Were it me, I'd start showing more physical affection, and see if she reciprocates it.

Lol, I'm not Canadian but a lot of people take my "eh's" as what a Canadian would say, but picture it more as a question. A direct question, as if I was asking you your name. Maybe if anyone on here ever runs into me, I'll demonstrate so they can describe it.
As for the whole girlfriend thing, I would suggest taking it SLOW. The car scene is hilarious the way you described it. If you feel awkward, she is going to feel awkward. The more comfortable you are, the more she will feed off that energy.
So, take it slow, do not force a kiss on her, approach her slowly as to not startle her, and I am positive unless you just pissed her off that she will graciously accept the affection.
Now go forth! Woooooo her!

I know exactly what you mean when you say "Eh". I do it too, I was just making a joke, yah know, referring to (I think Star Wars Fan) calling you a Canadian in the other thread.
Thanks for the advice... I'm with her right now... So I can't type too much, but I'll take your advice. I contemplated pouncing on her and sneaking a kiss but after reading what you said yours seems like a better idea.
Wish me luck!
