You have to admit there are some sexy girls to catch a glimpse at every once in a while on the bus,or the subway. Have any of you guys ever picked up/talked to random girls on the bus? What did you talk about? How did you start the conversation is what I'm mostly asking about.

And for the few girls, what do you think about guys picking you up on the bus?

I was sitting next to two scene/punk girls on the train once at night. One had on a hoodie of some band that my brother listens to, so I wrote down his band's myspace on a piece of paper and gave it to them, and told them they would like it, and they said thanks.

People are generally not very social on public transit because they've got other things on their mind, like where they're headed and whatnot.

Get a car, any will do. Pull up to a nice mercedes and check inside. If there's a hot chick inside, take out your cellphone and wave it at her. If she looks away, feel free to get out of your car and slash her tires, then drive off. If she looks remotely interested, get a piece of paper, write your number down (legibly) and show it to her. If she's got her window open, hand it to her. Make sure to do it quickly if you're at a traffic light, other drivers like to move along.

This won't work all the time. Hell, if it works 5% of the time it's a good sucess rate, but I've done it once successfully, and if I tried every single day, I could probably get a couple of numbers a week on my way to work/school in my crappy little car.

the metro system is an ok place for talking to girls, i myself have resorted to social interactions with fellow bus commuters should my gameboy run out of batteries. The only problem with talking to girls on the bus is what i call the 'trap factor', in which the girl has no escape should she find you annoying, offensive, repulsive whatever. Which in turn makes you wonder 'perhaps this girl is only being polite due to the fact she has no escape till she reaches her stop'.

I've done it but only if the girls looking at me. Just talk to them and if you get off the bus at the same place and shes still talkin to you you're good. Public trans is something everyone hates though so it could work against you.

The same way you'd start any conversation with a stranger. I like to use the "So, I couldn't help but notice..."

Ahh yes, the holy grail of the public transport system. It used to be all I thought of last year, catching a dickload of trains everyday, and seeing the hot regulars. I could never work up the courage to start talking to any of them though, I mean if you get shut down you've got to hang around in the same place until your stop, and everyone around can hear you.

It might be easier if you had a wingman, but going in solo was too much to ask.

Ultra-True Story for you: (Also before I begin... I beg you not to ask me details, but this is as real as it gets. And no this did not happen in the US).

I think it was an Audi S4... slightly tinted... in the middle of a mall's parking lot. My pal and I were also parked nearby and were enjoying sandwiches, while taking huge gulps of Pepsi to beat the heat. So as this Audi cruises by, we comment on the two hot girls in the back seat. Their driver was a mean looking fella.

Anyways, as the car rolls through the lot... two guys walk up to the Audi and scribble their number on the back window with a chalk-type substance. What happened next rocked my world! The driver (supposedly a body guard) got out with a semi-automatic and started firing at these scumbags. They were down in seconds. I still remember one fella wearing blue jeans, wriggling on the road.

The Audi sped off instantly. Later on, the papers reported that those two girls were actually members of a Royal family, and the driver was fully authorized to use deadly force. Kinda sad, but ever since... I am so freaking sensitive to just walking up to anybody with my number. Not that I need to, because I am married... but seriously, that's a bad bad idea to just confront a random lady/guy. You never know who they are.

^^ See I had mentioned before hand against asking for details. But before I get called out a liar... it happened in 1993, and at that time there was no Internet in this country. Also, only those who witnessed the incident could put two and two together. The report just said that a body guard gunned down two suspected attackers on the Royal family. So much so for censored journalism. Also, I was a little kid back then and didn't have the sense to hang onto the clipping or whatever.

Didn't notice that part of your post. Sounds crazy enough. Heard a story today from a guy in my office that was present in the Omagh bombing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omagh_bombing) and he was telling me the road was flowing blood like a river. He was standing beside this bus full of screaming children a lot of whom were injured and one dead. Wasn't a very nice story.

Honestly, that sounds like a horrible idea . Not only does it introduce reaaaaaaally awkward moments (see previous mcdonalds post) that you can't escape until you get to your stop.

Furthermore, people usually have other things on there mind and get disrupted and don't especially feel like talking to some random guy thats trying to get booty.

I don't think I would try flirting with a chick on the bus unless she initiated the conversation. She would also have to be really hot and actually have something interesting to say.
