They're disgustingly expensive, and you dont know how long the products have been there.

that's what i did the first time i bought a pack. went to walmart, bought pants, a dew, and a pack of trojans. i went through the self checkout, but it wouldn't have bothered me to use a regular checkstand.

We don't have many vending machines for condoms. Although, I have seen them in a couple gas station rest rooms. I don't see what the big deal is, although I can understand the embarassment. Kids laugh at the word condom, it would just be uncomfortable buying them.
Tell him that as embarassing as it may feel, it will be more so if he gets a girl pregnant and has to tell his parents. Walk in with him and make him buy them. Show him it's not a big deal. Seriously, it's just part of becoming a responsible male.
