Maybe you should be a tiny bit more specific about your truck, so we can be a tiny bit more specific about exactly how much money you will be wasting to get pretty much diddly-squat happening.

start with what year it was built in, and then continue with everything relevant you know about it.

Go!

What motor is it, the 2.2 or 2.5?

There isn't much you will do that will make a difference you will notice, and even less you can do that will make a difference you will notice and appreciate.

If you really want it to go appreciably faster, why not just skip the bullshit and turbocharge it. I don't know anything about the engine, so it might just grenade on you, but anything else in your situation is generally just a placebo. (or takes absolutely forever to do for car you really dont care about)

Argon: according to wiki, they only had the 2.2 in 2000. they also have '120 hp' written next to 2.2, but I find it hard to believe it stayed at 120 horsepower for the entire run of 10 years (as that little info box is for the second gen one)

Edit: Hey op: heres a good alternative to turbocharging: A higher ratio diff. You probably don't often find yourself maxing out in top gear, so if you pull say, 25% off the top speed, you can have 25% more acceleration. Simple, effective. Although gas mileage will go down a bit, for the record.

You cant do much with either, really. And I would say you are a fucking fool to turbo that thing. 120hp is the maximum power output that will be reliable.

Be thankful you dont have a 2.5L that puts out 85 hp at the wheels.
