Default A fundamental flaw in the concept of karma

If having bad karma means that years after you do something wrong, you will be punished for it in an entirely unrelated incident, how can you learn from your mistake? You don't know why this bad thing happened to you, so you vicitmize yourself, rather than feel guilty. This is especially true if it happens to you in a life before or after you do the thing that you are punished for. I think I am taking it a bit to literally though. Is karma meant to be taken literally or does it mean something else?

Karma when taken literally is meant to determine what caste you are reincarnated into when you die. The people therefore who are born into the shitty lower class are simply taught that they were born that way for their past sins and not to worry about what their being punished for but simply that they have done wrong and are now suffering for it. Your motivation to do better is not drawn from the specifict incident but rather your collective actions, you then are supposed to improve your dharma which are your actions so you can be reborn into a higher caste after you die. Taken non literally it could be thought of as later guilt for bad actions, not literally fucking you over but that you know you did bad shit.

Hope that helped a little at least.

i have to say, karma is a dumb concept, esp. if you believe youll get punish back for bad things you do, isnt it an opinion to how bad your crimes are? and to how bad youll get paid back? watch the movie catch me if you can, then tell me if karma exist? a man named frank abagnale jr. in the 1960s stole over 2million dollars from the bank in checks, worked as a doctor (he was a fake) worked as lawyer, worked as an airline pilot, screwed every chick he saw everywhere he went, worked as a college professor. he impersonated all these jobs, and stole that much money in over 20 countries, ALL BEFORE his 21st birthday. and went to jail for like a year? then popped out and worked for the FBI instead of getting jailed any longer in the check fraud department, then made up a checkfraud system every company uses today, and makes MILLIONS every month from this, and is married and has kids. sure, he was an okay guy, but doesnt change the fact he risked the lives of thousands in planes and as a doctor and could of fucked up peoples lives as a lawyer and not give student proper education in school and was a thief. now look how good his life is for doing that? fame, money, and a nice family. there's no karma there.

reincarnation is a stupid belief too, population grows and shrinks, its very unstable, the worlds population use to be in the thousands, years n years ago, now its in the billions? so we all reincarnate? yet there's more and more people being born? yeah, that makes alot of sense. NOT.

I know. And also there are trillions of insects and microscopic life forms. So wtf is with that. I suppose that for reincarnation to work there must be some divine being which decides the fate of all life forms in the universe in order to keep the number balanced, or maybe you are reincarnated in a different time or some stupid shit like that. Reincarnation = fail. Life after death I see as a possibility though. I personally havent totally dismissed the concept of duality, even though I dont agree with it.

i just believe in heaven, and that's it, everyone after death will be enlightened by God himself and then finally know the true religion of everything, n we'll just live comfortably forever in his kingdom, i dont believe in punishment... ^.^

i think its crap. really. i can say i was a german SS officer and died from an injury to my theigh and was born in 1905. everyone as a little kid likes to pretend their someone their not. so why cant a little kid just say that's what he is and that's that. and look at the numbers. statiscically. and if we had past lives, why would we forget them? why would we have different abilities in them than we do now? we do we look different? why do we live in different areas? exactly, reincarnation is just a stupid idea.

I know the whole thing was really long, but if you just read the first little bit:

In order to collect his data, Dr. Stevenson methodically documents the child's statements of a previous life. Then he identifies the deceased person the child remembers being, and verifies the facts of the deceased person's life that match the child's memory. He even matches birthmarks and birth defects to wounds and scars on the deceased, verified by medical records. His strict methods systematically rule out all possible "normal" explanations for the child’s memories.

I don't think too highly of this reincarnation stuff either but this got me thinking.

Karma works. I believe you just don't understand it.

Karma is a balancer.

You kill someone, the damage you've done to that person, the pain of death plus the pain of greif and mourn on the victims family and friends will all be calculated to one number, let's say its 1337 damage points.

So that damage points will be done back to you. It can happen slowly spread out throughout your life, or at once.

Karma expands beyond life to after life or another life. Karma will in one way or another bitch slap you.
