I think you did a little bit, the site I ordered from has 20x for 21.99 USD but that is the cheapest site I've seen(phytoextractum.com) the others have it for about what you payed for.
I have found that it is much easyier to break through using a torch/jet lighter than a normal bic. It could be a number of factors responsible for this, but I believe it to be the lighter.

Load up a full bowl and take as big hits as you can and hold it for as long as you can. I did that on the shitter and boy was it an experiance let me tell you. And as everyone else has said a torch lighter is recommended, but deffinately not 100% neccesary.

Edit: I have seen 20X go for $10/gram US, so you should do a little more looking around.
