It shoots .22 caliber bullets.

I made it by taking a hollow plastic tube that was used in a pen, put an aluminum tube in the front of it that has an inside diameter of about .25 inches. I melted the plastic pen tube around the aluminum tube, cuz super glue didn't work. In order to use it, a .22 cartridge is loaded into the back, and held in place by the aluminum tube. The firing mechanism consists simply of a rubber band and a hex wrench in the back that's pulled back and released.

Of course its not accurate, but do you think it'll work? Is it safe?

You made it just for fun or are you planning to do something with it? You should probably find a way to test it from far away incase it explodes in your hands.
