Hotel theft.
So in about two weeks I am going to be traveling around a few countries staying in different hotels. I will be on holiday for about 14 days, staying in one hotel for no longer than 2 days at a time. So...thats roughly a minimum of 7 hotels.
Now as always I will be stealing as much as possible without getting caught. However how much can you steal without being billed?
I live with a few friends, so obviously I will steal towels, all the shit in the shower/bathroom, bathrobes etc. But how much do you think I could get away with without being billed. Seeing as I'm going to so many different hotels I don't need to go over the top in every one.
Last time I was in a Hilton hotel I figured it would be better to steal from the hotel store room than my room,,,,so followed the maids and found it. Stole from their carts as well. They were all Mexican so a substantial amount was probably stolen anyway by them.
What else do you think I should try and steal? I will be doing a hell of allot of pickpocketing. But I'm more interested in the hotel. On the last day I might go for a tv or something.
I could really do with some suggestions as to what to steal other than cheap little things. Ash trays/towels/robes etc
Anything is fair game in my opinion, so don't hold back.
Also....the employees of the hotels have those cards that allow entry to any room. How hard would it be to make one of them?
So basically does anyone have any experiences to share, or suggestions as to what to steal to make the most money or just the best shit available.
Finally...a tip for everyone.
Every year I meet up with my family and we go on holiday, we tend to go to the same hotel, however we have never ended up in the same room.
So...when you are at the hotel. Scan your card and make a clone. Now next time you are at the hotel, you have the room number and access key for one of the rooms.
Once you collect a few maybe you will begin to see a pattern. If you can clone the master then you're up for some serious looting.

Re: Hotel theft.
I'd still go for the notorious: "Excuse me, I have to get my luggage loaded up, I'll be leaving shortly. Could you have my bill ready in an hour or so? Thank you"

But wouldn't they just pull your details back up after they noticed you stole a dvd player?

Re: Hotel theft.
This is assuming you didn't sign in with your real name, and that you're not going back to pay the bill ...

Re: Hotel theft.
Any modern hotel requires you to put down a cash deposit or they'll put a hold on your credit card for a couple hundred bucks. Pretty simple to use someone else's credit card, I guess but as soon as it comes up stolen the cops are by definition going to know exactly where you are...

They change the lock codes on the magnetic key cards each week. It wont work on the same door.

Re: Hotel theft.
One of my friends had a booze hound stepdad who worked at a hotel. He stole:
- 4 TVs
- enough tile to re-tile his bathroom and kitchen
- plates and alcohol from the bar
- chairs and tables (!)
- A christmas tree from the hotel lobby
- a weight set
Unfortunately, once the hotel figured it out, they came to his house and took it all back.

we change em everytime someone is assigned to the room
as for making a master key
I don't even know how the manager made mine, and i have to know a 4 digit password to make regular room keys
but seriously if someone walks up to me (especially a younger kid) and says i left my key in room 125 and need a new one
i normally just make em one without even asking their name
at worst i'd ask for their last name
we bill people for anything they steal, and keep track of anyone asking for extra towels
however i once staid at a hotel and the maid stepped into a room as i was on my way out, and this guy picked up the vacuum cleaner and took it to his car
let me know if you have any more questions
