Default How many Molar is 3% H2O2?

I HATE % by volume.

Does anybody know how many molar 3% H2O2 is? How did u calculate this?

I am trying to figure out the trimmer AP synthesis;

3H2O2 + 3CH3H6O ==> C9H18O6 + 3H2O

AND does anyone have density charts for common chemicals like H2SO4, H2O2, to check concentration?

help really really appreciated

Theoretical value without incorporating volume contraction:
1.22M

3% is roughly the same concentration as 10vol, meaning one liter of 10 volume H2O2 decomposes to 10 liters of O2 gas.

thx man

my equation was wrong, its:

2 H2O2 + 3 C3H6O ---> C9H18O6 + H2O + H2

So for a full bottle synthesis using 473mL 3% hydrogen peroxide, you would need 50.27mL acetone.

Its been soo long since chemistry. Anybody kind enough to figure out the max theoretical yield?

No, the first one was right.

50.27mL acetone would yield 50.65g AP if everything reacted perfectly. But since we live in the real world, you'll never be able to get a full return on reagents used.

50.65g

What would be a good amount of 90% sulfuric acid to use as a catalyst? And what is a realistic yield if I let it sit for a week?

Ive made this shit once before but I screwed up and used only 150mL 3% with 50mL acetone. SO I ended up with like 1 gram after filtering.

THIS time im not being lazy and relying on 'budgetpyro' of all people to do the calculations for me.

Use an excess of HOOH.

Dilute the sulfuric down to 30% before you add it.

5-10mL might be good.
