I can't remember the exact process but there is/was a way to constantly spam an account by forwarding emails between accounts. I'll try and remember.

Set up 2 email accounts and set both accounts to forward recieved emails to the other account and the address you want to spam. Then just send either one of the accounts an email and it will forwarded to the other account and the target, and keep sending it back and forth between your 2 accounts and each time the target gets another email.

All the mailing lists, forum registrations and newsletters I've ever signed up to require confirmation before they start 'spamming' an email address.

Just look up the SMTP RFC and write a program to repeatedly email pointless messages to them. You might have to vary the messages though to avoid spam filtering.

Another way is to search for the guestbooks and forums that spammers crawl for email addresses. Open-access guestbooks tend to receive most hits from these people; the type of guestbooks where spam is already posted (hacking services, CC info sales, etc.). Post the email many times on these places, and your friend will be overwhelmed by wealthy Nigerians.
