This is quite a nice and simple GHB synth which, apparently, works beautifully, everytime:

25ml GBL
12ml NaOH (It is meant to be 13gm (equal Molar reaction) but if one doesn't have access to scales 12ml works fine with regular NaOH, Lab Grade prefered)
20ml dH2O

1. Into a 100ml (at least) Conical Flask pour 25ml GBL.
2. Into a beaker measure 40ml of dH2O.
3. Add ALL of the NaOH into the 40ml of dH2O and stir immediately (it will solidify in the bottom and be a bitch to stir/break up if swiy doesn't)
4. CAUTION: IT WILL GET VERY HOT!! 90c +
5. Pour ALL of the NaOH into the GBL in the conical flask and give it a swirl.
6. Appearance should be one milky layer on the bottom which is the NaOH solution. A top clear layer which is GBL - if held up to the light, one will see small bubbles as the GBL heats up.
7. Swirl every now and again (every 30 secs - DO NOT cap it off and shake - just gentle swirling is fine), one will notice that the flask is getting hotter and condensation will form at the top of the conical flask. Eventually, it will start to steam. It will seem that nothing else is happening and that swiy has screwed up - this is not the case, it just takes a little time for the heat to transfer from the NaOH to the GBL and hit that point where the reaction can take place.
8. After approximately 4mins an exothermic reaction kicks in and it boils itself out in approx 15 - 20 seconds. It can take you by surprise, especially the first time! BE PREPARED for it.... it boils and steams and swiy will notice a distinct change in smell. Give it a swirl halfway through to ensure complete conversion.
9. That's it done! One should now have a completely clear, viscous liquid.
10. The Ph should be approximately 7.
11. Leave it for 5 mins then add 160ml of dH2O.
12. Filter the liquid through a coffee filter into a glass bottle and add 1.5ml of BLUE food colouring (This is standard and prevents idiots dosing up people unawares).
13 Give a FINAL test of the Ph, just to be sure everything is ok. It should be neutral. If not, it can be adjusted with HCl or white vinegar, some people use citric but apparently citric can cause GHB to turn back into GBL.
Emergency rooms have experience of people with caustic burns due to improperly made G, don't add to the number.

DOSAGE: 10 - 20ml

NOTE: IF swiy wants powder, don't add the water adn pour the viscous liquid onto a plate it will solidify. One could reduce some of the water content but it seems to work ok as is. Needs to be stored in a tupperware container or suchlike due to it's hygroscopic properties.

Why does it give a liquid amount for NaOH without telling the desired concentration of that liquid?

And there are easier ways to dissolve NaOH without having top dump it in and risk cracking your glass or splashing boiling lye solution around.

It does say 13gms, that is the DRY weight the 12ml is a dry measure - apologies for not making that clear.

Yes, there are loads of ways you could put a grain in each week if you wanted to.
If swiy did, however, the resulting NaOH solution wouldn't be hot enough to kick the reaction in.
This is for a pyrex beaker, temp goes up to 90c - not that much stress really, is it?
If it is, swiy should shop around for some new beakers - swims friend has used the same 30ml beaker repeatedly without any problems, whatsoever.

How much GHB does you synth yield?

This is not my synth, it is from another Forum - it is a 'tutorial' with pics, which I can no longer seem to find - I have the pdf still and will upload it and provide a link, however...

45ml viscous liquid initially - diluted up to 200ml with dH2O - Dosage is taken from the DILUTED result.

Kickass man, let us know when you upload it.
