Default Getting to know your fellow moderator.

I just realized that I don't know a thing about some of you guys, so I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where mods could post whatever info about themselves they felt comfortable sharing with everyone (age, when you started modding your forum(s), hobbies, etc).

I'll start. :D

Mod start date: August 1, 2005

Age: 22

Hobbies: Language. I'm studying Japanese right now at college, and I studied German in high school. I've briefly studied many other languages, but I didn't stick with them. I find the structure of different languages fascinating, and sometimes I choose to study a language simply because I like the "sound" of it. I'm also interested in eastern religions, specifically Buddhism.

Career aspirations: Accountant, I guess. Accounting just happens to be the subject I have the most credits in; I haven't declared a major yet and I'm going to be a senior next year, haha.

Now you.

Um.... I'm 20, and I've been a moderator since sometime in 2001 or 2002 I'm not quite sure exactly. First registered on totse in 2000, though like many users I was interested in text files and the like beforehand.

I have many many hobbies, but my current one is drawing, Im nearly finished with a Basic Drawing class at one of the local universities and I'm really enjoying it. So much so that I'm enrolled in the university for the fall to take more art classes. I'll stay for at least a semester to see what I think of it.

I think I started being a moderator in February of '05. Somewhere around there.

I live in Alabama. I like cats, music, drawing, and long walks on the beach.

As far as career aspirations go, I guess I'm still undecided. I'm looking into a job drawing flash for a tattoo shop nearby, mostly because my friend works there, and she has asked me to. Don't know if that will happen or where it will go.

I really dunno what to say. I guess if you want to know more about me (for some strange reason) you can email me or send a message on AIM, IRC, or MSN. I'm always willing to talk to Totse people. :D

Mod start date: I dunno Nov 2006?

Age: 21

Hobbies: I play football (soccer), I enjoy a wide range of things when I have time. Gaming, music and movies. Cooking, 'technology', chemistry, botany, general biology and microbiology. Drugs, the law. I like to read things that can hold my interest, and it needs to be a true story, or instructions on how to do something. I like dogs, if I wasn't what I am like probably train dogs to be companion or seeing eye dogs. Skating although I suck at it

Career aspirations: I am a Environmental Health Officer in Training. If you don't know what that is think of the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)...Air, Water, soil contamination. I also do public health work. Inspecting food shops for safety and hygiene compliance, tattoo parlors and body and ear piercers - also too water cooling installations, what to do with discarded needles in open areas like parks, I am slowly becoming the waste officer too. We just recently introduced kerbside recycling. I'm doing uni at a Sydney University via distance education so basically teaching myself. I also work at a multinational food franchise. In the past I have become a qualified I.T. person, worked orchards and I turned down I.T. at university, and accountancy at university to be what I am.

I would like to do a regular piece for a periodical or write a book (or a few).

Oh and I'm in Australia

I've been moderating since August 15th of 05. I was a regular for 8 months before that time.

I started moderating in Moving Pictures, then Printed Matter, then HB, then Headshrinkers. sambob recommended me and I switched my username over to Euda from Eudaemonistic_SOB.

I'm 22, Canadian, and a guy.

My hobbies are numerous. The list goes on and on and on. You'll see them reflected in most of who I am and what I enjoy.

I'm currently employed as a Construction Consultant and focus on scheduling and subtrade conflict resolution. It is boring me, but pays too well to walk away from at the moment. It means that I do some light paperwork and get taken out for lunches and coffee on a regular basis.

I'm beginning a study of all things electrical, since I'm currently considering picking up an apprenticeship as an electrician. I have a lifelong interest in construction. I'm interested in business, but not in working as a businessman; I have honours level schooling as such. I also have quite a bit of training within writing, reading, and editing English; it is one of my cheif passions.

Never hesitate to ask a question about me. I may or may not answer it in a way that satisfies, but you're always welcome to ask.

I used to be a building surveyor too :O I had to choose between picking fault in building work or the environment and chose the latter.

I guess we both found it boring however seeing a multimillion dollar building finished after being nothing but drawings on some paper I found pretty cool.

Yes, it's quite the sight.

Actually standing back and looking at the work that you've accomplished offers a satisfaction that few jobs can match.

When you find a job you can do with a smile on your face each morning and each night, pursue it.

Mod start date...no idea, guess somewhere in 2005?

I started modding Travellers travaills. When the forum was down one time in January and February and it came back up, I made a thread asking for a travelling forum, and Jeff gave me one! After that I got added in SG (in Oktober 2006, if I'm not mistaking) And about a month ago I got News of the World.

I'm a 21 year "old" Belgian.

Hobbies, intrests: My hobbies are photography, fitness and running. My intrests are Muay thai and various other Martial arts (seeing as I have done 4 years of Muay thai myself)
Appart from that about anything that has anything to do with art also intrueges(sp?) me.

Career: Currently I am working as a sales representative in an adventure store, selling GPS, Polars...and lots of other things.
Recently I have been giving the chance to go work in Argentine, Buenos Aires as a call operator for EA games for one year. I know shitty job, but it seems like a cool experiance to do so in two months I'll probably be posting on totse from Buenos Aires.

I'm 19. I've been a moderator for a whole... 2-3 months? I'm socially awkward and I drink too much lately. I'm smitten with philosophy and religion, but lack the motivation to pursue either in great detail, although my major is in philosophy. I'm hoping for some sort of motivational kick in the ass because I aspire to be a lawyer, and laziness will not get me there.

I don't really have any hobbies. I used to horseback ride competitively but stopped when I started college and haven't found anything else to hold my attention for long enough since. I have extensive knowledge about completely random things that rarely come up in daily conversation. I also have a rather difficult time expressing myself, so usually I say very little or nothing at all. I think my puppy is the greatest thing in the world and am greatly entertained by small fluffy things.

Sometimes I may come off as an idiot or a bitch (or an idiotic bitch) but I am really neither. Just an oddcake, trying to find my place in the world.

I joined January 2001 I think and I think I was made Mod of BLTC December of that year. It was kinda tough at first because within days of being made Mod, the other Mods of BLTC left, leaving me the only Mod and I had little idea of what to do.

I am 43, and have a 15 year old daughter named Alchemy. I'm divorced but have been dating, on and off, this deaf lady who has 5 year old quadruplets.

As most of you know, I am disabled [not crippled, disabled. I can walk just fine]. I have a degenerative bone disease that is slowly fusing my spine, hips and shoulders. I had my neck broken in '95; I was in a body cast and had one of those halos bolted into my skull for 7 months. I was paralyzed on my left side for about 5 months. I have since regained about 90% of my left leg and about 80% of my left hand - which is a bitch because I am left handed.

I am in constant pain though - I take morphine and norco for it.

Before I went out on disability I worked as the facility manager for a research lab.

My hobbies are electronics - I have a degree in electronics - and I enjoy repairing electronic stuff [I even got a tube tester and taught myself how to work on old tube-based things].

I also am a musician I have a home studio and my band - the Mad Morticians - have several CD's. I've posted my songs many a time on Totse and just about everyone who has heard it like it.

Default Re: Getting to know your fellow moderator.

I was added as a moderator to Printed Matter at Euda's suggestion threeish months ago. Since then, I pushed hard for an education forum with Jive Talka and Pirate Joe, and was modded in that forum as well. I had a brief interlude with I Found it On the Web, but am much too busy for that forum and suggested Juke_Box_Hero mod it. Oh how grand the cycle of giving is! ...Anyway. I joined September of 2004 as an avid reader, not so much a poster.

Consequently, one of my many hobbies is reading. What do I read? Anything I can get my hands on, really. I try to read something new and different everyday to expand my knowledge as both a reader and a writer. My writings consist of poems, (which accoring to King_Cotton and Euda evoke emotions of pain and despair), short stories, essays, ideological rants, and humorous musings. I am hoping to make a career as a reader and a writer, so I am pursuing a degree in English with a concentration in creative writing at San Jose State University.

Another hobby of mine is theatre, which happens to be my job! I am lucky enough to get paid to do something I love, no matter how little it is. It is a meager salary, but I am too happy working behind the scenes to mind. I am a Stage Manager at a professional theatre company in Salinas, CA--a full 60 miles from my home in San Jose. I drive a lot, and spend about $300 on gas, but I'm a lot happier than I have been with any job. That's saying a lot since I have had about fifteen.

I am also a volunteer at my college radio station, KSJS. I am a DJ--name bangbang--for a metal show--name Bloody Revolution--from 2am-6am PST Monday mornings. Hopefully I'll get a better shift in the fall so everyone can listen to it B).

Err I suppose that's it. Oh. I'm 19, female, and 6'1".

...And this is Loki. He is my <3

Fuck , this thread is doing my inferiority complexes no good whatsoever..all these bright young people :(

I joined totse back in 2003 and was made mod of S&A sometime in early 2006 I think. I'm one of the few mods 'elected' by popular demand (of course Zok still had the final word). I'm always very aware of this fact and go out of my way to be as nasty as possible to anyone who voted for me. Thus completing the circle of karma.

Just before the change to VB , LC decided she wanted a second mod for My_God and she choose me. This surprised a lot of people as I wasn't a very regular poster there. However I had posted some threads there that had impressed her and others, and she knew from S&A that she could work with me. Also having studied for the priesthood in my youth there are few people there whose knowledge of the bible/christian sects betters mine.

I'm a brit, but we speak German at home and i lived there most of my adult life. I'm 39 years old and have 3 sons 18/17/16. One is a cripple.

I'm the Dad From Hell (as S&A regs will know).

An ex-violent criminal, one of my few claims to fame is that I once pleaded guilty to two charges of attempted murder, armed robbery and walked out of court a free man (i got 3 years probation). The DA had wanted 7-life.

As an alcoholic and sadist, whose done a lot of stupid things and has had the t-shirts and the embarrassing little rashes to prove it, most of the advice I hand out here is because having fucked up my own life 7 ways to hell and back I have a fair idea of what doesn't work.

At the moment i'm studying for my CCNA.

I'd love to put you in an arena Pokemon style and pit you against sambob.

I'm yoyobek. I am in my mid twenties human years, and I've more guinea pigs than most humans have fingers.
Guinea pigs have been a love of mine for several years now, they're creatures that dont have any alterior motives and dont have a manipulative bone in their bodies. They wont lie to hurt me or lie for self gain. If they hate they hate, if they like they like,as simple as that.
After all my years on this planet, and dealing with the human race, I find this refreshing.

I used to be a Rave dancer but at the moment I'm too fat and tired. No one wants to see the fat chick throw glow sticks around.
I've a disturbing obsession with food and health, and it seems I've entered some sort of battle with food, alternating between hating it and having to work with it all day every day.
I used to do normal kickboxing, nothing fancy, but again I'm fat and tired at the moment. This will pass.

I've also a love of shiny things, and if you need to distract me simply send me a baggie of pebbles, crystals, ecstacy tabs, shiny metal items or a guinea pig.

I'm english, from an english mother, allthough my dad was a shit.
I've relatives in South africa, newzealand and londonland.

EDIT:
I'm a mod thanks to sambob and he will allways be my mentor, with jackketch a close second.

Edit edit:

My main goal in life is to get the fuck out of this shithole suburb and go live in a big city by the ocean.OMG SEASIDE!!!
Whenever I think of the seaside I feel sad and homesick. And clautstraphobic.
If I'm not out of this place in 8 years I'm just going to dig a big hole and lie in it for a few centuries.

I joined sometime back in 04 and was modded in AR&R the day after Totse made the switch to Vbul, then the education forum a few months after that.

Some of my hobbies include: Studying, learning, and playing music, studying different languages (Spanish, Russian, and most recently German and Japanese), journalism, and working with movie prodution (make up & special effects, video and music editing, etc...).

As far as career aspects go, I've tooling around with the idea of movie post-production since I was in high school, or perhaps a job writing for some music and game related publications.

Oh well, like Zappa said "Any way the wind blows".

I'm the Dad From Hell (as S&A regs will know).

That's a straight lie! Honestly, you remind me slightly of my dad in some places, and that's good.

Anyway...Something about me...

Been modding for about a month now after the creation of Set the Style, and I've recently been posted to Games People Play also.

I'm 17 and I'm a pretentious arsehole. I live in Cheshire, UK, and it's not a bad place.

I'm just coming up to finishing my first semester at college (Studying for a BTEC Level 3 national Diploma for IT Practitioners in Software Development...It's horribly boring). It's quite possible that I might fail because...

...I tend to have no 'get up and go' power in life, I really have to want something in order to do anything about it.

Unlike the stereotypical angsty teenager, I have quite a good relationship with my parents (both divorced and remarried.).

I eat, sleep and breath computers, and I aspire to be a network security specialist for a future career.

I used to skateboard quite a lot and I wasn't overly bad, but when I moved across the country about 3 years ago (from Hull to here), I guess I left it behind, I'm thinking of starting up again.

I always have a smile on my face and make a joke out of any situation, even if it's looking overly grim for me...You can find laughter anywhere.

I smoke cannabis when I can, my parents don't agree with it wholeheartedly, but they did it when they were a teen, so they understand 'how it is'.

I'm single at the moment, my last relationship lasted 11 months, and I broke it up...I currently have someone very special in mind that I've known a while.

My username comes from when I was about 12-13...My friends (one more than others) said I looked like Chris Raab from CKY and Jackass...I adopted the name and changed the spelling slightly.

I have my own website (http://www.zerotrace.fh-net.com/).

I wrote several chapters for a story about Totse called "The Temple", I'm hoping to pick it up again once the holidays really do kick in.

For several years in the past I taught myself to use nanchaku, I've recently picked them up again.

I'm a SONY fanyboy.

As a lot of you know, I'm a crossdresser, but this has developed more into a sexual fetish only.

I can play a range of instruments including guitar, drums, keyboard, recorder and jaw harp :)

I'm an avid gamer, I play a lot of FPS and RTS games, and every now and then I'll dive into an MMO.

Not sure what else I have to say.

Thanks for reading, I guess.

I started modding totse when headshrinkers was created, not too long ago. Before that I was an admin on a now closed DC comics forum and a ModSquad member of a fashion community.

I have big interests in code and the logic side of computing, and am an avid fan of macs. I do alot of reading, I go to the theatre alot, and I am an accomplished ballet dancer. I listen to mostly metal and alternative, though I am trained in classical instruments like piano, cello and clarinet.
In the day I look after adorable babies, and sleep alot.
I'm a sucker for 'products', I love makeup and hair things and love going to the spa or the hairdresser. I'm a member of the elitist bitchy 'fashionpack' in my city, and go to watch London Edge every year.
I have a 3 1/2 month old goddaughter Willow, who is beautiful :)

My real name's Greyfox, belong to the Muscogee nation, retired from an obscenely high-paying political sinecure to live in a run-down trailer in Alaska and work as a shaman. Now I have my own little retail business, mostly selling knives, blowguns, knucks, switchblades, the odd handgun--hence the screen name. I usually carry at least one gun, sometimes as many as three.

Still a low-budget kinda guy, I reside in a 3x4 meter cabin, and get a lot of my needs from the local dumpster--i.e., food, clothing, medications, books, DVDs, cash, furniture--some of the local denizens decamp at night to avoid paying rent and leave their stuff behind, which I scrounge.

I mod some forums at paradoxsector.com, came here with the help of Demonica and Rust, offer pro bono psychic. readings at SotD

I came into this world the same time as the transistor, integrated big-league baseball, the pinball machine, and organized women's weightlifting--not to mention the Taft-Hartley Act, the first and last flight of Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose, the end of the British raj, the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls, the breaking of the sound barrier, the first modern UFO sightings, and many other history-making events. That would be that wonderful year, 1947.

Mostly, my emotional life could be described as a slow-motion train wreck-- now on my fourth marriage and had innumerable one-night stands (mostly at Mensa convention--I used to be an oficer). This was largely due to drug/alcohl use and my Narcissistic Personality Disorder (have had tons of therapy for it, am getting less obnoxious). Now I am married to Kathy Lynn Douglass, a professional psychic reader and the smartest, sweetest, sexiest great-grandmother on the planet.

Just over four years ago, I quit using tobacco, alcohol, pot, and pretty much all other toxins on the same day--I aspire not to be overly self-righteous about it, though, and am in charge of the local NA group, even though I disagree with the NA party line.

I love God, but despise organized religion and Bible-thumpers of all stripes.

I think this is most everything that isn't already in my profile.

I may as well participate.

I'm 18, been modding for... I actually have no idea. A year or so, out of the three I've been here. I mod Half Baked, which basically entails abusing my mod powers for fun on occasion and taking care of the bi-monthly spam attack from disgruntled fuckwits. I enjoy it muchly. Got rotated into SG recently and like it too.

I'm off to university this October to study Psychology, then do do my Ph.D, then to take a Doctorate in Clinical Psychiatry. That's the plan, anyway. I'll change my username to Dr.Happy when I'm through. A Doctorate in Clinical Psychiatry is good for exactly one thing; becoming a clinical psychiatrist. Looks like that's what I'll be doing.

I like peace and quiet, soft things, cute things and hardcore, rugged manly things (to balance out my liking for soft, cute things, y'see). I read all the time, a big chunk of that being sci-fi (hard sci-fi, if you please). I've got a real soft spot for Iain (M.) Banks, brilliant author. I spend a quite ridiculous amount of my time listening to, finding out about and playing music (I buy a lot and pirate an obscene amount, but I wouldn't buy half as much as I did if it wasn't for pirating). I love my music. I've grown my hair to half a metre long and am very stubborn about it. I like to be barefoot and shirtless, and I like sun-warmed stone under my feet more than any other surface. My favourite colour is yellow, and my favourite living things are bees, rabbits, dogs, ants, climbable trees with lots of branches and interesting people (few and far between, but worth looking for). And guinea pigs so as not to disappoint yoyobek. My least favourite living things are wasps, the bastards, they make me overreact like a girl. I never grew out of the childhood desires to climb trees and explore anything dark and confined. I'm both happy and happy-go-lucky pretty much all the time, which seems to make things go well (which in turn makes me happier and happy-go-luckier). I fear I'll get a comeuppance one of these days, but I'm too happy-go-lucky to care. That's not why I'm called Mr.Happy, though; when I signed up I was a grumpy, misanthropic little shit and the name was ironic. I guess I grew into it; it's more fun this way and it's harder for people to dislike me (which again makes me happier). I'm happiest when I get to lie in bed and relax knowing I have absolutely no reason to get out of bed for several hours, especially if I have cuddly company. I overuse parantheses in long Totse posts (you might have noticed).

Which five? I have all of them, along with his Praxis and Deli Creeps and other side project stuff. I can upload some torrents for you if you like. I also have all of the In Search of the... tracks. Buckethead is pro-bootlegging too!

I will come into R&R and talk about him. I think last time I was in there we argued about Yngwie, lol.

Well, I'm not sure which 5, I'm just guessing.

But I'll be 100% honest here... I have over 90 Buckethead albums (though I havent taken an accurate count recently).

This website has a pretty good list of them though:
http://www.bingeandgrab.com/discography_years.html

Does your copy of In Search Of... have anything interesting written on it? Mine has sort of a weird message, that tells me Travis and Buckethead remember me from a particular forum I used to post on.... but when I ordered my copy I didn't mention it, so thats why I'm curious. Whats yours like?

I still think its just cool to have 13 CD-Rs with the disk numers written on them by Travis Dickerson..

In fact sometimes I just sit there and stare at them :P

I'm a 21 year old native american that resides in the oh so wonderful state of Oklahoma Roll Eyes (Sarcastic).

I've been moderating the Anime forum since 2005 I s'pose, been a BBS member since 03.

My hobbies include reading magazines, art stuffs, airsoft, mechanical stuff, animation (the whole gamut, not just anime). I'm a huge cartoon buff and I'll watch any cartoon I can get a hold of.

Career aspirations... biggest goal is to one day to be able to sit on equal footing with the artists I admire the most in this modern time (Julie Bell, Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta, Luis Ruyo, Chad Michael Ward etc etc). I love fantasy art, as is noted by the aforementioned artists. But the current one is to further my freelance career, build a better portfolio, put a magazine on the market ,and make a website to further place myself into the market. And to save up enough money to buy a new engine for my car :p.

Anything else? I like cats for pets, studied kendo for a while, enjoy trips to the wildlife refuge here, and scaring the piss out of people when coming down the mountain.

Currently working on making a Dirty Diamond statue for... Dirty Diamond (can listen to him on myspace.com or channelchaos.com), Elisabeth Bathory painting (hungarian blood countess), and building a new computer since my home was broken into and my stuff stolen. My focus in art is digital for the most part, and pen and ink coming in at a close second. As of now I'm focusing on perfecting the liquid ink type of coloring seen in comics.

Convoluted it is...

I registered in March of 2004 and was modded a month or two later.

I'm a 49 year old father of three (one son and two daughters). I went through divorce 10 years ago and was awarded custody of my kids. The two older kids now have families of their own. My youngest daughter graduated high school this year and will start college in the Fall. I'm also the proud grandfather of four.

I've worked most of my life in automotive repair, except for a few years I spent drilling oil wells. I'm the Service Department Foreman at a modest-sized Ford dealership in South Texas, where I've been employed for the last 23 years. I am an ASE certified Master Automobile Technician w/ L1, and also maintain Senior Master certification through Ford Motor Company.

In my spare time (when I'm not enjoying the company of my grandkids or visiting totse) I like to do a little bass fishing at a nearby stock tank (pond) . I also enjoy woodworking, and will eventually find the time to finish the shop that I began building 2 years ago.

I think I've been here since late 03/early 04 and became a mod less then year later in Art and Design. I've gathered forums within that time, a number of stints in SG, Moving Pictures and Noahs arc (since i bitched for it). I'm also a regular poster in S&A and lurk most other places :o

I'm 20, and live in Wellington, New Zealand and I really can't wait to get out.
I'm currently just over halfway through a 4 year honors degree Photographic Design, I love it and I cannot imagine myself doing anything else. I plan to move to London after I get my degree and try make a living as a photographer there. I'm not entirely sure what type of work I want to get into, probably magazine/fashion work for the money, and art photography for the wanking rights haha - but seriously, I'd like to be a practising art photographer idealy but I've got to bring the money in somehow.
There's no future for me in New Zealand, my aspirations go much further then this place - it'll always be my home but I can't see myself living there permently after I'm gone.
I want to do my masters overseas, probably England.

My hobbies don't really go beyond photography - I did just dig out my bass from my parents house and bought it home with me, so I might start playing that again. I have an interest in fashion, which is probably why I like that type of photography.

I'm single, and have been for quite some time - I don't know why. Actually, I probably do, I have some pretty firm beliefs and opinions on womens rights and there relation with things such as religion and society. I'm outspoken when I need to be but in reality I'm a pretty chilled back stoner art chick :p

Default Re: Getting to know your fellow moderator.

hmm.. might as well make a post.

I'm a mod noobie, apparently appointed to GPP to help out when needed. I was modded a few days ago. I've been on totse since around 2001, under the name "life_sucks", or something to that effect. I was an angry teenager at the time.

I'm 22, about 6 feet tall, and have absolutely no sense of fashion, which I'm mildly proud of. I was born in North Vancouver, BC, Canada, and lived in a small town called Penticton for many years, right up until recently. I am of european decent, mostly english and irish, though the family on my dads side are german in their roots. But all have been canadian for many generations. You could say I'm a bit of an introvert; I usually speak only when spoken to, generally because I don't feel I have alot to say to others. This, of course, is in real life, though I hardly have trouble actually talking to people. I tend to write rather long posts, and I've become a fairly quick typer all thanks to totse.

I love music, cars and video games to be perfectly honest, with other interests including travelling and, strangely, anything to do with the sea. It's difficult to explain, but sailing, shipwrecks, deep sea exploration and other such things have captured my imagination ever since I was a child. I've no idea why.

I looooove driving. And not the kind where you drive your econobox to the shop to pick up some milk - I've been a huge fan of motorsport ever since I was about 4 or 5, as I grew up around VWs, Audis and Porsches - I love Rally racing and circuit racing. Drag racing and oval stock car racing doesn't appeal to me in the least.

It's not just motorsport; cars in general. I've always wanted to go on loooong road trips, travelling across the land in my own car, and that is exactly what I've been doing recently, in Australia no less.

Music... well, I have wide tastes but I mainly like Heavy Metal. Though I haven't actually played music in years, as I used to play drums in the high school jazz band for many years. Geeky I know, but I learned alot from that.

Always been into video games; I grew up a Sega fanboy, but after the Dreamcast fizzled out, my fanboy-ism went with it. To me, I'll happily enjoy whatever's good, nevermind who made and what system its on. Let the school boys fight over which ones best. Obviously, my favorite sort of game are Racing games, and am generally quite good at them.

I don't know what I want to do with myself in the future. I figured I'd do my travelling now while I'm young, but I do now I plan to move to Vancouver when I get home; there is nothing for me back in penticton where I used to live. Nothing but dead ends, that is. I've always wondered about taking a course in Marine Biology, or something to that effect. I dunno. Before I worked dead end jobs washing cars. While here in Australia, I have done that as well, and will continue to do these kinds of jobs, simply to make money.

That's about all, I guess.

My Buckethead collection is still being beat out my small Zappa disco!

I have about 40 or so of Big B's albums and somewhere around 50 Zappa/Mothers albums, as well as 20 or so Zappa/Buckethead live bootlegs.

But now I've got my eyes set on INSEARCHOFTHE since I finally got some money.

I'll check my spam folders, Yahoo does have a tendency to nanny shit alot and try to 'protect' me from the interent.

If not, try technobek@yahoo.co.uk

Some of my latest ones have come from a sow smuggled in from Russia.

(Which makes absolutely no difference to the guinea pigs language or appearancem but it sound cool. And they love to help me mod my forums on totse for some reason.)

Jackketch, Zao isnt really a 'pop' band. I'm sure you remember bands from your day that smashed their instruments and screamed alot. Think of Zao like them only not dumb enough to smash their gear.

We have a clock for the hour, and we play "heavy" and "medium" rotation albums (about 40 total) during certain times in the hour. These are chosen by the rock music director... Luckily, he's a metal head. In between are options; I can choose anything in our collection that doesnt violate FCC regulation. In between music are PSAs, promos, and me talking about bands.

Friend showed me the Totse forums a little over a year and a half ago.

I'm taking summer school classes for college right now.

My hobbies include, learning, reading, writing, flirting, music, Super Smash Brothers: Melee, anything intellectually stimulating such as chess. Big chess player, I am. Animals are my passion, love to learn about animals and living organisms of all over the world (including flora)

My looks do not attribute to who I really am. I'll always be quite the nerdy geek kid at heart, but I'm a big stoner. Hang around questionable characters. I use to sell various drugs with my room mates.

I'm studying to be a zoologist, with history as my minor. Either career path I choose, I seek a doctorate.

20 years old, been a member since early 2003 (early 2004 under this name), was modded back in August 2006.

I come from a very unstable home, I've never lived anywhere longer than a year, I've never met my father, and I was in foster care with a psychotic Christian family for a year and a half (which may be why I am so tremendously against any and all forms of organized religion).

I dropped out of school my senior year after a series of health and housing setbacks, but no one IRL actually knows that, except for my mother and some friends. Everyone else thinks I graduated with my class.

I've spent the last two years just sort of existing, trying to find my place in life before committing myself to a college track. But I realize time is running out, and I'm looking at getting in to McGill next year.

My interests and hobbies vary with the days of the week, but generally break down into one of three categories: technology, entertainment, politics.

I'm a web designer by profession, but hate it.

I love the world of entertainment. Not just enjoying music/movies/tv/etc, but also the business and production aspects of it. I would love to work on SNL, if not as a cast member, then at least as a writer. Either that or a filmmaker.

Politically, I am very, very, very left of center. In an ideal world, I'd be an anarchist. But since we live in a far from ideal world, I'm a socialist in the "real world". I'm a member of the CPUSA and former member of the IWW. Of course, America is pretty far removed from the rest of humanity, so I have to constrain myself even further, so I'm a registered Green.

I'm very politically active in the drug policy reform world, and if I don't pursue a career in entertainment, that's probably where I'll end up.

Oh, and I have a fetish for Jewesses and Eastern European chicks.

Man Alaskan/Muscogees must be fucking crazy. I saw a shaman once in Falmouth Maine and we just did some kind of meditation. We meditated that I was on a walk through a forrest, and I met all of these weird animals that helped me solve my problems. I mean talking squirrels and pine martins and shit are cool, but you're like, a shaman that sells weapons. Thats so cool..

What are knucks?

Brass knuckles. In addition to the classic cast brass, I have the lightweight cast aluminum (for extended melees), ones with sharp nubs, ones with extended sharp points, ones with skulls on the business end, and the designer model--rainbow-hued, due to a coating of anodized titanium.

But aren't they illegal, you ask? Yep--fourth degree misdemeanor. I keep them out of sight--along with the switchblades and butterfly knives.

Maybe you can answer me a question I've been wondering abhout for many years: Do they make a left handed switchblade?

I'm serious. If you use a regular one left handed, it opens into your hand, so I've wanted a left handed one for ages.

One thing I forgot to mention: I am also an ordained minister - as are a couple others here I know. Good old Universal Life Church who will ordain anyone online. Even though I'm about as Agnostic as they come. I did it for the lulz, though I have performed a wedding once...

There are out-the-front models that would work left-handed, but they are insanely expensive--like around $400 or so. They open AND close via the button. I sell one that opens out the front for $59, but the recock lever is on the wrong side for a lefty. Wait a minute--you could hold it backwards--actually, you could use any auto that way, but you couldn't see the button and would have to operate it by feel. I think that could work, I'll have to try it.

Oh, and I'm ordained ULC, too.

And my wife loves my Mighty Mouse impression. (HEEERE I come to save the day....")

I'm 17, just out of high school. I'm not really one of those people who likes to "do stuff" or "move around" too much, so my days mainly consist of lounging about, drivin' around, playing games, playing guitar/bass/keys, and generally just hanging out. I might apply to Berkeley and try for a degree in music. I'm not sure yet. That'd eat up alot of my free time, which I value above all else.

I joined totse in late 03, and just recently got a mod position in IFIOTW (thanks to bangbang <3). Im pretty sure I was nominated once before but it didn't happen.

I use to think the same. But one day, I was at a random Gym, punching the shit out of this punchbag. And however hard I hit it, it just kept coming back for more. It was an incessant, never ending battle.
And I figured that instead of all this punching malarky, I could finish the fight with a simple knife jab to the upper abdomem.
Problem solved.

Correct.

Nope, I don't sell chucks, for a number of reasons:
1) nitwits would play with them and hurt themselves or me (which is why I keep the butterfly knives under the table, even though they are legal in Alaska).
2) They are rather bulky; the space they would take up wouldn't be worth it--I have to get all my mechandise in my SUV.
3) There are a zillion different kinds--wood, acrylic, ones with LEDs and so forth.

I have horrible memory, but I started modding DIY sometime between one and two years ago. I am amazed at times when someone learns that DIY exists...

I will be 20 in 3 months. I am either a sophomore or junior electrical engineer (I told you I have bad memory) at the University of Mississippi making horrible grades.

I work at the NCPA which is an on-campus lab. I was a programmer until a few months ago when I got moved into Aquaculture Instrumentation group where I do almost nothing all day from 9 (or whenever I actually show up) to 5. If I do anything, its messing with this obnoxious water tank and glass beads.

My interests are fairly well-rounded, hence my obscene post count. They include the occasional DIY project, cars, computers and programming, philosophy, and others that do not come to mind at the moment.

Anything I would ever tell a person I have told to totse. You wont have to search hard to learn how I think and feel.

This forum has a warmfuzzy element not found elsewhere on Totse! I'll keep it short:

I'm 35, divorced and no offspring. My hobbies are canoeing, hiking, fishing, reading, writing and gambling. I live to road trip, but have yet to leave my own country. Traveling abroad is on my "list of things to do before I expire". Professionally, I'm a junior accountant for a marketing research firm in Little Rock, Arkansas.

I've been registered here and active since 2002, although my post count suggests differently. I've been a moderator for ... (checks watch) ... about 12 hours now, give or take. I have very little experience in this arena but am willing to learn. Constructive criticism welcome at all times!

My screen moniker belies my personality, as I'm neither angry, nor a professed feminist - I pirated this name from a racehorse.

Anything else you'd like to know, don't hesitate to ask. I really dig interacting with you people, and Totse as a collective bunch.

I was applying for a job in a EMI unit, and they needed a ridiculously huge amount of possible references (people who'd vouch for me).

Due to my habit of viewing without signing in - and only signing in to add/change/delete something in L. Tips and not being signed in on the rest of the forum pages... I only just found out we had our own forum.

Should have wondered how shit was getting done since the old mailing list thing went down the swanee.....

So a bit about myself....

Considering some of the subject matter covered in L. T {and by my namesake in other forums} am not going to go into huge detail - though am sure the 'powers that be' could find out who and where I am if they really gave a shit.

Anyway - am a Brit, living not all that far from London - but spent quite a few years living in the USA. Coming from a quiet middle-class background I seemed to become the family black-sheep and have - mainly in the US, when living there - been involved in shit that I should have known to steer clear of.... but hey it was fun at the time.
Mid-30's, male - been on the board since 2003 originally, but had to re-register when my old profile was 'eaten' by the software (or something like that).... think was made Mod sometime late 2005, or early 2006 - not sure.

Not on TOTSE as often as would like - spend too much time running, mntn biking, reading (fantasy and history books mainly) & working.

The following things are listed as they come to me, no order, just entirely off the top of my head.

Likes: coding (currently in perl, php, sql, and c), riding and repairing bicycles, building computers, women, linux (slackware and fedora), the german language and culture, cooking - especially baking, lemonade, good beer, IRC, brewing beer, and math.

Dislikes: Short attentions spans, powdered lemonade mix, inefficient code, unsalted peanuts, dumb people, most of the US government, microsoft windows, and the numbers 3 and 7.

Outside of TOTSE I: do music and design related things. I've spent most of my summer in the school's wood shop making things. Otherwise, I eat, sleep, watch things on TV-links, and ride my bike when the weather's not as cold as a witches teet.

I think someone from my class went to Wittenberg...

I'd have to check though.

That's a private schoo, right?

What type of art do you do?

PRivate school, yeah. Someone from your class? I don't know. Though another &totse moderator goes there as well (theres quite a few of us from and around Ohio), though I wouldn't say who unless he said so himself first.

Theres actually some kind of funny stories relating to that and our parents, maybe he would allow me to share them (edited for personal info and privacy of course).

As far as what type of art, so far I've just taken basic drawing, but I'm really liking it. In my OWN time I've been working on figuring drawing mostly, but also drawing from nature some. I actually spent a week in midcoast Maine (outside Waldoboro) this past month, just got back last monday (hope nobody noticed I was gone!). And I spent a lot of time working on water and nature with charcoal and graphite crayons... but in particular I like working with conte crayons.

I think I'll get into painting though, I've been using Conte differently than you're really meant to I think. I blend it all smooth so on the paper it looks more like acrylics or oil painting. I guess I'm basically treating a dry medium like a wet one..... layering different layers of color and all that (sometimes brushing powdered Conte with a brush :P). Having some good results. So I guess what I should be doing is painting, but I'm having such a good time with the Conte crayons that I'm baially going to stick with them for a while. Though its DAMN hard to get ahold of Conte in colors other than just black-white-sanguine, and DAMN expensive! :P

Btw Social Junker: They DO pronounce it "Wittenberg" not "Vitt".

However Wittenberg Germany IS our 'sister city' of Springfield Ohio.

And you will find this amusing, my father wrote a song for his midlife crisis faculty (they have like 9 Ph Ds amongst them!) rock band (he teaches at Witt), called "Wheres The Mountain?"

The gist of the song is "Wittenberg U. is great, theres students, teachers, parties, etc etc... but I came here expecting a white mountain!" :P

And of course the chorus is "Wheres the mountain?", asking about the lack of winter sports, skiing, etc etc.

Very funny if I may say so myself. I'll have to see if I can find the recording we did and upload it its pretty good!

Gah, I just spent all last week listening about Martin Luther attending Wittenberg and his trip to Rome, got to ear a great story about him having a "shit fight" with the Devil though.

I'm Pete...I'm 22...Been modding since I was about 17 over in S&A (as far as I remember). Live in London, England.

I currently work in a hotel as a night operations assistant/deputy night manager. Shite job, shite pay but fuck it...It's better than being unemployed. Plus, when it's quiet I can just fuck about on TOTSE!
It has its upsides sometimes though.

I enjoy listening to and playing music...Mainly heavy metal but there's loads of other stuff chucked in the mix like blues, classical, motown, old r'n'b (Diana Ross and the such)...I play guitar...Played many instruments including viola, trumpet, cavalry horn and snare drum.

I like getting tattoos...Got about 11 of them at the moment...Still want more...Addictive fucking things!

Anything I missed?

Don't worry in a few months you'll wake up and find yourself unable to do anything but konnalkol ("the voices").

I suppose I could post here, if only for the lulz.

My real name is Jake, I'm 20, and I live in Kelso, Washington, USA (2 hours south of Seattle, and 1 hour north of Portland, Oregon).

I graduated from Kelso High School, Class of 2005, and I just graduated from ITT Technical Institute, Portland Campus in September, with an associates in IT-Network Specialist.

I joined TOTSE in March of 2006, and I think I got directed here by another site, but I can't really remember the circumstances. I was modded in RFA per MLoR's recommendation in August 2007, and put into SG in late September 2007.

When I'm not on TOTSE, I work for 2 radio stations in town, one of them on AM (Classic Rock) and one FM (Top Country). I DJ, do weather forecasts, and a little bit of engineering on the side.

Got a woman that loves me, her name's Gina, we've been together since February, and we're talking about moving in together before the end of the year.

Any Questions? Ask!
