Tell your mom you know, and talk about it. Don't tell your dad. It seems like a shitty thing to keep it from him, but you have a chance right now to save this, he never needs to know. See what your mom has to say, and tell us.

what did the texts say? if they're definitive and you're not just reading too much into them, tell your mom you know. don't tell your dad first and whatever you do don't try to contact the other guy. what the hell would you be able to say to him anyway.

Tell your father immediately.

He has the right to know. Think about it. If that was you in his position, would you want to be betrayed, stabbed on your back, and having the one you love the most, your son, hiding it from you?

No. Pick up the phone now and go tell your father. You know it 's the right thing to do.

Why were you looking at her phone in the first place.

Two reasons why honesty would be bad in this situation:
1-It will prove to your mum you're an untrustworthy snooping brat.
2-it will severely fuck up things between your parents and destroy every semblance of a cosy home life you've ever had.

I have to change my stance on this and agree with yoyobek. Keep it secret. These things tend to unravel themselves anyways. So don't feel bad.

I dunno. I'd want to know if i were your dad. but hey... who knows? I think it won't ever be better for you, because whether or not you tell yoru dad, YOU know. I'd be fucked in the head if my mom cheated on my dad.

As everyone said before, don't tell your dad. Even if you want to. Talk to your mom first and then if you really don't think it's valid or she's not being very nice about it, THEN talk to your dad.
Don't snitch.

She's being a hell of a lot more deceitful, and the affair will fuck things up between his parents anyway when it comes out, and it will. He might have been in the wrong, but it rather pales into insignificance next to what she did.

Horrible situation to be in; I had a friend in the very same situation. He didn't say anything, but it wasn't because he didn't want to, he just couldn't bring himself to say anything to either parent. I can't say I blame him; saying something to your mother won't change anything that's happened, saying something to your father will just hurt him. Sitting on it without saying anything will make you feel like shit. It's lose-lose-lose; personally, I'd think your father needs to know, but that would pretty much blow your family apart. Try to talk to your mother first, like others have said.

I think you have a right to tell your father. He is head of the household after all.

If he's any kind of adult he won't implicate you at all. But prepare for things to get messy.

How old are you?

Don't be a little ass and go tell your dad. He has the right to know. How come everyone always says you shouldn't tell a friend you think his girlfriend is fucked up unless she's fucking around with him, but once it becomes a father everything should be kept quiet? People sicken me sometimes.

He has a right to the truth, he's a man, he ought to be able to handle the truth. You'll have to accept that your mother's a cheating slut and needs to be given a divorce with no alimony or anything like that.

Why were you snooping and looking at her phone messages anyway?

It seems your family has a thing for deception and disrespect, huh.

Some of us don't shit our pants with rage if a family member is a bit curious. There usually isn't anything to hide you know, finding out her mother is a whore wasn't an expected outcome

Tell your father. Tell him to silently start silently moving the property in his name so the whore won't get a share when he's done

I think that you need to get a couple of really good friends and have a talk with Ray. About brain damage caused by hits to the head from a hammer... Or you tell your mom you know and tell her you want $___ each month/week/day or you'll tell your dad. Then tell your dad anyway but make sure he keeps it on the low and do that moving the property to his name thing that other person was talking about. When all that is done, you can still have that "talk" with ray...

I think it may be important to speak to your mother first just so that you don't blow things out of proportion. For example, this guy might be a creep, or someone she makes overtly sexual jokes with at work.
If you take this straight to your father, things may become much more complicated than need be.
About the privacy, you can just let your mom know that you happened across it somehow, unless you were deliberately snooping. Either way, I think it's more important that you talk to her about it than leave it alone.

Am I the only one that thinks, MAYBE that you mom felt that she needed to go to another man because your dad just isn't there either emotionally, or sexually?

You need to sit your father down and tell him, and help him umm perform better.

I was in a similar situation, I found solid proof in e-mails that my mom was cheating on her long time boyfriend.

I waited until we had a huge blowout argument which seems to happen on a somewhat regular basis, and then I blackmailed her.

So....profit from it.

lol really ?!?

well I've heard a lot of good advice. you know your parents better than anyone here, so tell your dad if you think he will act rationally, so that he can prepare for the assrape they call divorce. Maybe he can get the phone records for proof of her cheating.

I feel sorry for the situation you are in.

If his mother is having an affair then she wouldn't have a leg to stand on. She's having an affair, it's all that's important.

Pfft I think the point of him looking in the phone is irrelevant, so get over it.

If you want to help your mother, and save your parents marriage I would talk to her first and see what she says about it. I would make her tell your father about the affair. If they're really meant for each other, they'll work through it.

Of course if you don't, then by all means tell your father - she is a cheating whore after all.
