Subcutaneous fat is basically fat deposits underneath the skin of the face. It goes for cheeks as well, but is mostly measured lips. It basically defines how the face is going to wind up contoured.

OK, I've got full lips. But I don't think they are made of fat. I've got sunken cheeks and have very hard cut jaws. I guess thick lips are more about being sexual, which I am very much.

H4T3 is partly right, it's an evolutionary psychology thing. Masculine features are attractive in a guy, masculine features being those far removed from feminine features. It doesn't matter if fuller lips are caused by higher levels of oestrogen or not (although they are), they're less masculine features; they indicate lower levels of testosterone and correspondingly higher levels of oestrogen. High testosterone levels are subconsciously desirable to a woman for any number of reasons, I'm sure y'all can figure out a couple. Fuller lips are a more feminine feature and as such are slightly less attractive to females in an evolutionary sense.

However, he's reading way too much into it. It's a very small indicator when compared to more overt male characteristics, and is unlikely to affect attraction much apart from at a level of personal physical preference. Sociocultural factors play a bigger role in who we find attractive than evolutionary factors now, so it's not going to make much difference either way.
