try:

KI + H+ ------> HI + K+

add an acid to KI to get hydroiodic acid. H3PO4 should work, and HCl might.

you can use a mix of H3PO4 and either H3PO2 or H3PO3 to form the phosphate triiodide intermediate and recycle HI.

Oh, and by the way, the RP/I method is dead, unless you're doing a micro batch (~2g or less) or have easy access to RP (not scraping matchbooks for horribly impure shit), iodine (tincture is too expensive), or ephedrine (fuck cleaning pills when you can brew an ounce of meth from other methods with a little more work and not be watched for buying sketchy ingredients. Most meth synths are easy as fuck)
