| Network (in)Security Interesting hacks and cracks. Info on firewalls, TCP/IP, encryption, networks, and security. The ins and outs of the phone system, caller services, how things work, what's illegal and what's not, cellular phones, beepers, telephony legislation, the PUC, ISDN, taps, who's listening, and switches. Talking about phones, hacking systems, technical advice, and such is completely LEGAL in the United States -- it's covered by the First Amendment. What's illegal is conspiracy to commit a crime. So if you say something like "Meet me at 2am so we can crack a can" or "I changed my cell phone's number myself" you are criminally liable. Stating "You can crack a can by doing thus-and-so" or "If you wanted to change a cell phone's number, you could do it like so" is perfectly OK. Posting passwords, calling card numbers, or credit card numbers is forbidden on this network. Posting such info will get you booted off the net. |

Windows Hacker vs Linux Hacker
Hello everyone :
I have a confusing question, Since there are lots hackers in here I would like to get an answer. I know some hacker who says he does all his hacking stuff in windows (defacing websites and other shit he doesn't want to tell me about) but is it 100% possible to be only a windows hacker and do all of this crap ? Plus He said that he hacked into a Linux computer (knowing that he only uses windows) I'm into linux very little (using slackware 11 but progressing very slowly) but most of what I heard, Read, Seen proves that Linux based hackers are very efficient in doing there job and since Script Kiddies don't adore Linux. I find Linux based hackers are the true hackers but I might be wrong and it's my opinion . Back to my question; Is hacking using ONLY windows possible to do the job or the guy I know is trying to hide something from me or he's is lying ? and whom do you think is considered a true hacker. The Linux Based or The Windows Based ?
PS : Though I know that this might be out of the subject I posted If anyone here is willing to help me out using Slackware 11 I'd be grateful .

Re: Windows Hacker vs Linux Hacker
the OS you use has little to no effect on how good of a "hacker" you are, although one may have advantages over another in various fields.

Re: Windows Hacker vs Linux Hacker
No, there are different types of fucking hackers out there.
You've got your fucking hackers who use Windows.
Also, you've got your fucking hackers who use Linux.
However, I'd say hacking would be best in Linux, because there are so many different versions of Linux. You could even make your own version of Linux for more security if you've got the fucking time.
Windows has so many bugs and security problems. People work each day on corrupting windows and finding more fucking security problems within it.
Yes, you can do a lot of hacking in Windows, which is called cracking in terms of what you're discussion, you god damn noob! This is often done with scripts, programs a person has made, or etc.
I think a true hacker, however, would be doing his/her shit with a volatile method, which would be Live-CD/Live-DVD Linux. Why?
Well, your stupid friend is going to get anally raped in prison because security analysts (rhetoric) saw his illicit drug and computer cracking activity with magnetic resonance on his god damn computer.

Re: Windows Hacker vs Linux Hacker
I would respect a hacker who used linux more just out of personal taste, but if you can get windows to do what you want thats real "elite"-ness there.

Re: Windows Hacker vs Linux Hacker
For the stuff you're talking about, it doesn't matter. HTTP is HTTP, Telnet is Telnet, etc. etc., and the operating system you use doesn't usually have much bearing on your ability to connect to other networks and do deceitful things to them.

Re: Windows Hacker vs Linux Hacker
Despite my name, I am not a Linux hacker, although I acknowledge Linux's versatility, hacking under Windows has been more suitable for me, ignoring the unnecessary services Windows runs that slow down the overall performance, as well as pre-equipping yourself with a couple tweaks mandatory for smoother performance and security.
In other words, "Hacking under Windows is like swimming equipped with steel boots."
Again, despite my name, I am prepared to put all that unnecessary challenge on myself as I do my shit and fuck the unsuspecting Linux fuckers over. They made be more leet but they completely lack style.
Windows hackers are bad, Windows hackers will kick your ass. So watch the fuck out, pussy.

Re: Windows Hacker vs Linux Hacker
Lol, if you're so fucking bad code your own OS instead of using shitty proprietary crap. Or are you a hacker who enjoys paying for bug fixes?
