Does anyone know the process for extracting safrole from nutmeg? Thank you to anyone who can help.

Don't know about netmeg...I don't like the taste...I prefer some finey grinded black pepper...

I think its a complicated process. You'll probably have to distill the powdered nutmeg into oil first then work on extracting the safrole from the oil. Thats a guess though I dont know shit about extracting safrole.

Granny's right, it'd be easier to synth from benzodioxole than it would to isolate safrole...

...if you just want "technical-grade allylbenzene crap," recrystallization of the trimyristic acid from an ethanol or acetone extraction, followed by a gentle warming, shoud get a half-decent mix of safrole/tmab/myristicin.

...if you wanna clean that up, you'll probably have to go lightly apeshit with fractional distillation under vacum, 'n a little chromatography of the results. 'n even then, there's a good chance that your seperation will be... partial.

Me, I'd roll lazy, work with "generic allylbenzene crap" and chromatograph the alkaloids at the end... or, better yet, if you're rollin' all "safrole-only"... find a different source, dude. Like... coffee. Or, anise, if you can get rid of PMMA/PMAB. Or... sassafras.

There's only 1 real, good-attitude drug chemist in this city, and I've heard of him, and know a bunch of his mates but am yet to meet him...

Don't you also realize that there are other akaloids of interest in nutmeg (myristicin is one)?

Here's a better idea. Go to a dollar store. Read the front of some herbal medicines. Find one that says capsules, has a large number, and is cheap. Buy a bottle and fill all the capsules up with nutmeg. There. You've got safrole in easy to take pill form.
