| Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought. |

Political Compass
http://tinyurl.com/2dc3lv
So here's where the Political Compass puts me. Where does everyone else find themselves?
Also, what label (if indeed such things may serve a purpose) would you give my political leanings? I was thinking liberal, but I'm pretty close to the centre ground/libertarianism.

I would have described myself as fairly central libertarian, but apparently I'm Gandhi..............

Re: Political Compass
Interesting that nobody's very right wing. I personally think the test has the potential to put people to the left of where they are, because often questions are theoretical.
It's a sad reflection on our society that something as basic as drinking water is now a bottled, branded consumer product.
Now you might agree with that sentiment, putting you to the left, but totally defend the right to make money off of bottled water if that's the way the market works. I guess there's still the "agree" or "strongly agree" options which allow for some nuance, but it's still not a very revealing question.

Re: Political Compass
Has it already been a month? I guess so, if I see another political compass thread.
MexWanker is the only Totse member I have seen to have a far right-wing authoritarian political compass mark. I shall take it again to see where I am now.
update - Holy Crap, I've moved to the right of center since the last time I took this test. I'm still a libertarian, but I was around the point of where Ghandi was marked last I took this test. http://www.politicalcompass.org/prin...0.50&soc=-0.92

Wow, a bit extreme on the economic scale.
Probably, because I was dependent on the NHS when I was born and my mother has systemic lupus and so is reliant on it also.
