Little friendship help needed.
Within the last few months i have gotten to know a girl from college.
To know how i feel you will need to know that i have never been able to really communicate with people, i am the typical quiet shy kid at the back of class who doesnt have a social life or many friends....and those friends he does have are only the "see in school friends"
I had a best friend for around 8 years in primary school/high school and i didnt get on as naturally with him as i do with this girl. Thats how special it is.
Now, my problem is obviously this is more special to me than it is her, she has a lot of friends and she is the type of person you can sit with and just talk and laugh and get along with.....she is like this with everyone im sure.
I need a little advice of how i can emotionally distance myself from her a little, i obviously want to be friends and really close friends but i can't deal with getting too close which i know will happen if i continue along my current path.
Thanks.

Re: Little friendship help needed.
First of all you started speaking in the second person for a while.
Second, I need a more specific question, Are you trying to be freinds without falling in love or trying to distance yourself all together?

Re: Little friendship help needed.
Well, you're aware of it, at least.
Call her by someone elses name, that always works for me.
"OH hi Kris----I mean Cindy"
It shows that, daym, you got peeps too, you dig?

don't take this the wrong way man, but stop trying to sound so mysterious as it will get you no where, soon you will learn that it is you who are harming yourself by isolating yourself. life isn't some anime series where the tough, anti-social, mysterious guy gets all the girls and is envied by all the guys.
you want to be good friends and at the same time you want to get away from here, emotionally. I'm sorry but the is friendship will not work. just go with he flow, who knows what's going to happen, what is the worst that could happen?
if things don't work out so what, you move on, life goes on. you got something out of it.

I was hoping totse had changed and some mature people who knew what the fuck they were talking about had come. I was wrong obviously.
If you think im trying to be a "tough anti social anime loner" or whatever you obviously have no clue about me haha :D thats such a moronic thing to say and i CLEARLY dont get all the girls haha.
Im not trying to sound mysterious, im trying to distance myself a little emotionally so i dont fall in love with someone i want to remain a friend with....its not a difficult question to grasp unless you have an intelect that could rival a wooden doorstop.
Someone who knows what the hell they're talking about care to help? or are you all the "omg i dont care about anyone or anything just get over it if it doesnt work" wanna be tough guy?

Re: Little friendship help needed.
If she's as easy going as you make her seem, then tell her how you feel.
Two things can happen:
1) She loves the honosty, and the relationship you have becomes so much better.
2) She does something you don't like.
If "1)" happpens, then you should be happy. If "2)" happens, then you'll have an easier time of distancing yourself.
Either way, it's all on you.

Thats the point, i don't want to lose someone who i can be like this with, its taken so long to find someone i don't wanna throw it away.
But.
I don't want to get too deep in that i just feel shit whenever im around her.
I can't tell her how i feel because thats just me.

Re: Little friendship help needed.
If you don't think that you can handle it, then I suggest finding more friends.
The only other way that I know of is to limit your contact with this friend.

Re: Little friendship help needed.
Gain confidence and look at how other guys at school get girls. Or just bury her into your unconcious and end up miserable at school 9liek me_) and then get someone special in university
