Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default War with Iran

The topic explains most of the thread. How many of you think that a war in Iran is imminent?

I sure hope it is, but I doubt it.

Bush claimed to be a "war president" in 2004. Yet he hasn't lived up to his promise to attack Iran because they haven't stopped their uranium enrichment.

Without a draft, I don't see how it's possible. The military is already stretched beyond the breaking point in Iraq.

I don't see a draft being successful, barring a significant false-flag "terrorist" attack to whip the masses into a patriotic fervor.

200,000 troops isn't stretching the military to the breaking point...And no one has suggested invading Iran. You don't need any troops on the ground to take out their nuke sites.

Aren't the (alleged) nuke sites buried underground?

Our standard bunker buster GBU-28s can penetrate 100ft earth or 20ft concrete with ease. Israel has plans, if not developed and tested, nuclear penetration weapons.

Plus you can always send one down an elevator shaft.

This would be another complete waste of American dollars and time, not even considering how much more unstable it will make global politics and the area.

Yeah. So what? Does that mean you have to occupy the entire country?

The problem is if America/Israel use shock-and-awe tactics against Iran, anti-west sentiment will continue to rise.

So we should do something that is bad for the country(letting a terrorist state get nuclear weapons) just because a few more people won't like us...GENIUS
