Default may i have your attention please

so i was reading through a few threads here, and everyone seems to think having a boyfriend/girlfriend is the most important thing in the world.

Well guess what:
it's not

get your fucking priorities in line. You're young, you shoudl be focusing on studying hard and getting into a good college. AFter that when you are rich and have a good job, then you can focus on sex.

you'll thank me for this advice.

You can have both. But when you have to choose, no woman is worth giving up all that.

Unless it's Jessica Alba.

Jessica Alba better know how to pour a decent pint of Guinness...Or she'd get put in the kitchen.

And yes...Good advice. Love is all good and everything but there are far more important things in life than sex.

And I sound like my dad...Great days.

ROFLMFAO @ you. As if a stupid degree is automatically some magical ticket to a boatload of money. You could be the most naive poster in all of S & A. How about this for an alternative plan.....

People could not give a shit about school, fuck like rabbits while in their teens, party hearty rock n roll as much as they want, and get a GED whenever its convenient for them. They could STILL wake up in the future, be a productive citizen, have a good job...and continue to party/fuck to their hearts content into their 30's and beyond.

Worked for me..........

I didn't miss any point, and perhaps you are lacking with you reading comprehension. Bascially the OP believes that teens should become mindless drones focusing ONLY on their studies and ignoring mother nature and its resulting emotions/sexual desires.

:D

That's especially true if you're under 18. Your life will be much more enjoyable when you're living, studying, and relaxing in a nice college/university;

also, you're not really likely to achieve much in your sex life before you're 18, and if you do, it won't mean much later in your life. On the other hand, if you spend a bit of time actually studying, you'll get a nice foundation, that will aid you in a dozen of aspects later on in your life.

And, you can have a lot more fun if you have the money, than you can without it.

So yeah, keep your sanity but think of the future.

Btw, I wasnt a party animal but I definitely went to parties, messed around with girls, drank a little, and had grlfriends while i was in high school. Hell, I was even a fucking stoner throughout my freshman and part of my sophomore year. Yet, somehow, I managed to graudate with a 3.84 GPA and SAT scores in the 95th percentile or better. AND get into the colelge of my dreams.:p

BULLSHIT! This is just as stupid as the drivel the OP was spewing. Quit LYING to the posters on this board that are still in school! Foundation for WHAT exactly? There is not a goddamn thing taught after 6th grade that is used in normal life......unless of course you are playing Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit. Anything else beyond that is just mindless trivia...and any other skills/knowledge needed for whatever job is taught ON THE JOB! Or during certification training. Or getting a specialized degree.

And lets take it one step further. Anyone that HAS gotten a degree and job relating to it understands that all those "minor" courses needed for the degree are completely useless and also not relevant to the job they are working. The whole point is, if the colleges and degrees focused on JUST the skills needed for that particular industry then people could get that degree in 1 1/2 - 2 years. But of course colleges are a BUSINESS, and they wouldn't be able to make as much $$$$$$ in tuition fees if they operated that way.

Don't buy into this "well rounded education" nonsense. It is just the mantra of people that have a stake in the profits of folks having to take useless courses with no practical applications in REAL LIFE! Go ahead, I challenge anyone to step forward that has a real job togive me an example where not only were they required to do tasks A, B, C to keep their job and get a paycheck.....but also write an essay describing some nonsensical Shakespearean play. THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE!......and anyone that tells you how "necessary" that is, is just feeding you a line of bullshit.

you do know that alot (would say majority here, but dont have facts to back it up) of millionaires never went to college?

The trend actually seems to be that the more money a wealthy person(not talking ghetto trash here) has, the less schooling the person has had.

Think about it.

Im not going to college, and I guarantee I will retire by 40. Thats all work done by myself, no kickbacks from daddy. By 30, I will have about a quarter million dollars. Most people with "respectable" degrees are still paying off college loans at that age.

Depends on the kind of job you're interested in. Do you think you could apply for a job, train for a few weeks, and start efficiently designing complex systems, say, in IT? It'll be a bit tough, especially if you want to be the best around.

Plus, it never hurts to have extra knowledge in the field you're interested in.

I'm not telling people to study every single subject they're taught in school. Become the best at the one you're interested in, and try not to fail the rest.

I think he was referring more to the main mindset of people on this board, not the subject of the majority of the threads.

That said, the OPs advice sucks. Sure Qualifications are awesome, but without meaning, what's the point in life? People who focus solely on their careers end up drained and unfulfilled.

Obviously with all of that "schooling" you weren't exposed to reading comprehension, huh? You pseudo-intellectuals never cease to make me laugh. You come on here and make some broad based generalizations with very little REAL LIFE practical applications. And when challenged to back up your claims, your only response is more milquetoast hypothetical nonsense.

Cmon Agent008...give us something, ANYTHING with substance that can get the teens still in school reading this to have a better understanding where you are coming from. Maybe you could tell us what degree you do have, and then rattle off all the minors you were FORCED to take.....and we could do a quick analysis of how relevant those courses were in the degree you were seeking, and most importantly in the job you now have.

For that matter here is your chance to prove how all of your "education" makes you so much smarter than some dimwit with just a GED. But again, lets discuss REAL LIFE SITUATIONS instead of bland theory. I could sit here all day and put up post after post of all the bullshit I was forcefed in high school (and witnessed other people in my life having to endure college) where the teachers would give us the line of....."but we are preparing you for life".....and almost 20 years being out of school I am STILL waiting for those REAL LIFE SITUATIONS to rear their ugly head.

Cue the fuckin crickets...........

i think i agree with almost everyone in some way on this one.

I've lived a life of no regrets in High School, but not in a sex, drugs and rock'n'roll kind of way.

i've got good grades and am on my way to a good school in the fall.

i didn't get a girlfriend until the middle senior year and i found a good balance, and i'm sure i would have if i'd gotten a gf earlier.

it all depends on the maturity of the person.

Nice tapdance. No debate classes with all that knowledge either? Pity......

See, here is how it works. Someone makes a claim. Another party makes another claim arguing the original one with substantial reasons why. The onus is now on the original claimant to give SUFFICIENT evidence to why their stance is not faulty and still has merit. And back and forth it goes.

You however, are STILL making broad generalizations and now when challenged for LEGITIMATE real life scenarios you are more or less saying....."nuh uh, you first." I've already stated above I run a business and live a very fulfilling life. I'll gladly give you more details once you start backing your blather with actual substance. Until then you'll just look like the dancing fool totally avoiding the topic.

roughly 15-25 is where i think a person should have the most fun in their life... so whats the point wasting it on "100%" studying for a job that will earn u money to enjoy being an adult, when money cant buy the happiness that u could have had as a teenager...

(sure, get the balance right... but make sure u get ur priorities right aswell, u might regret it someday when ur married with a high paying job and have a commitment thus less oppurtunities to have fun etc)

It's good advice dad. Now go back and watch your TV after working all day.....

I have two trains of thought on the above statements.

The first is more of a question - is it better to have a regular boy/ girl friend through school so you can actually get some study done while releasing your natural urges, or is it better to party on on week ends trying to score randomly? Cause one of those two things is going to happen if you are a normal kid...

The second is more of a statement - It's good how the government is trying to integrate tards in with the general poulation - the OP is a shining example. He quite obviously can't get a boyfriend, so instead of trying to improve himself, he sits back and says he doesn't want one anyway, and neither should anyone else. He's either a tard, or a religious nutter......

Having a girlfriend is the most important thing in the world.

When you reach a certain age (16+) you need it to get a certain social status and respectability.

Of course, the girl has to be hot or at least desired by other men.

Guys that never had a girlfriend are retarded and should commit suicide to rid the gene pool from their crap. Not that those losers would ever get a woman, but just to be safe.

What an interesting way to conduct yourself when posting on message boards. Instead of taking someone's words/posts at face value, you come up with your own silly little conclusions and assumptions to what was REALLY behind the poster's words. And then if anyone else isn't playing in the same realm of your amazing fantasies, you label them as "retarded". Yup, effective and influential posting at its BEST!!!!

If you believe that everything said on message boards is entirely truthful and serious, and that there is no reason why this should not be the case, then you are a fool. There are several reasons why a person's words may not be a 100% literary translation of their true beliefs. This is fact, not an "amazing fantasy."

Not only do lots of users attempt the use of wit, such as sarcasm (with varying degrees of effectiveness), but also many users have other motives - commonly fishing, trolling etc. This is abhorrently obvious.

Well gee whiz.....thank you for that profound lesson of Deh Internetz 101! You've altered my life! (See now THAT is obvious sarcasm)

One point you are missing is we have the ability to look at a poster's past posts. Myself, I've read a few of the OP's posts and realize at the very least he is a bit weird and quite backwards. Definitely a troll? I don't think that can be determined 100% considering Totse is made up of a whole assortment of personalities, and quite a few do go against the grain of how most people think, feel and live.

And I guess you missed the rest of this thread where someone else crawled out of the woodwork and pretty much echoed a similar mindset (and actually put up multiple posts defending the nonsense). Or maybe he is just a troll making a joke too huh? And in case you haven't noticed a dozen or so different members did respond to this thread (including a mod or two) and they pretty much took the OP's words at face value too.

So at this point one of two things is "abhorrently obvious". You are a complete genius being the only person to see the "joke" in the OP's post, and the rest of us are just a bunch of "retards" (doubtful). OR, we all are having normal discourse about this topic and you have entered this thread with the sole intent to flame....which would in fact make YOU a troll (very likely).

Honestly, if you want to continue a flame war with me, I have no problems with that in the least. As you can see I pwned Agent008 so badly he has had to run not walk away from this thread. My advice to you? Find someone else to stir it up with, because I GUARANTEE you will end up looking even more like the kidiot nincompoop than you already are if you insist on targeting me with your attempts at flaming.

Have a nice day braniac......

Well you have just said that the OP could be trolling and that it isn't conclusive either way - which is exactly my point. Taking the OP's words at face value is one thing, but doing so with such conviction as you originally did and then proceeding to shout down someone that suggests that perhaps the motives behind the post aren't exactly as you interpret (which you cannot guarantee either way) is something else.

You could apply that logic to ANY thread originated in any section of these boards (or at the very least threads that go against a "popular" mindset).....and question the sincerity or intent of the OP. Yet here you are picking THIS thread, and my post in particular to try and flex your e-dick and start a pointless argument. Seriously dude....just back the fuck away and realize you are just a little guppie swimming in an ocean of sharks.

I just happened to cast my eye on this thread. As you can see by my post count, considering when I registered, I pick threads very sparingly. Yes, that logic could be applied anywhere hence it being obvious as aforementioned, which is why it's all the more surprising for someone to fall foul of it.

Haha, nice analogy. I'd extend it by saying that if that's the case, the OP is the fisherman netting you big bad sharkies.
