the one chick friend every guy has?(kinda long)
so a friend of mine came into my place of employment today to try it out( i work with food) with her mom and took a seat.
she kept looking over at me and my older, wiser, and much much woman-smarter manager tells me she's checking me out.
Being the dumbass i am and not playing it off to my advantage, i just straight up told him we're friends. i told him how we've been best friends for a while and there's never really been anything else between us. My manager says that every guy has that one female friend he never dated or anything and ended up regretting it later in life.
honestly, i love her with all my heart but i don't think i could go out with her simply because it would be a step down to boyfriend level, i know how she treats them.
i've had too many people telling me lately that i should make a move, but honestly, i value our friendship too much and i am too afraid of losing even that
Basically what i'm asking is, given what i've said, and general knowledge, would i have a chance at having a serious relationship that would last long and be worth risking what we have or should i just be a pussy like usual and not do anything.
thanks

Re: the one chick friend every guy has?(kinda long)
I was in a similar position not too long ago. My girlfriend and I were close friends, and we got into a relationship, no problem. She didn't have the best run with guys, and didn't treat them fantastically either (mostly because she knew they only wanted sex). We've been going out for nearly 4 months now, and both love each other.
I see no harm in the two of you trying out being a couple. Hell, if it doesn't work, you can (assuming it wasn't too bad) go back to just being friends. If you don't try, you'll always be wondering.

Manticore has got it.
Man, if you seriously want a relationship, then shouldn't she be your mate at any rate? My GF is always a mate first, GF second, but maybe that's just me.
So go nuts, it can't harm your existing relationship unless you let it.
