Default Paintball gun: gas tank doesn't seal

For some reason, whenever I take a CO2 tank out of my paintball gun, something screws up with the valve on the tank, and the rest of the tank leaks out. This happens with one of my 9 oz tanks, and I think the two other tanks I use with my gun. Am I jinxed with faulty tanks, or is my gun screwing up every tank I use? It's a Tippman Model 98, BTW.

P.S. I think it belongs here... A paintball gun is a pneumatic cannon, right?

DIY would probably be more help, maybe W&C.

But it just sounds like the valve is sticking open. You don't have any lock-tite grease or some kind of oil around those threads or on the gun, do you?

Get a new tank.. You've damaged the seal.

Well, your tanks don't properly seal, that's for sure.

They probably got fucked by your gun, a faulty disconnect perhaps? Do they become unfucked after recharging/other gun ?
Worst comes to worst, if you can't fix your marker you'll need to install a separate valve on your guns gas intake, or use an adapter to load tanks.

W&C doesn't fancy airsoft/paintball, so I'm moving this to DIY, you'll get a better explaination there.

Are they Java tanks? They are notorious for having shitty valves.
Try putting a drop of oil in the valve. Maybe it will work. Otherwise, you can always buy new valves to replace the ones that are already in the tank.

The people at my local paintball store always say that they've fixed my tank when they recharge it, but alas, if it was fixed, it's refucked by my gun, I think. I'm gonna try one of my fucked tanks with my brother's gun to see if it's the tanks or the gun.

In any case, I'll probably be changing the valves on the tanks. And I'm gonna sell my gun to a stranger, I want the 98 Custom, so hopefully it's the gun that's somehow fucking up the tanks
