A druggie life.
Hi.
Over the past 2 years i casually did drugs every once in a while (i can't stand marijuana though so i dont smoke it ) But i stumbled across DXM... and I really got into it.. I think i was at 1500 mg's before i quit.. about once a week.
Anyway in february, i decided i should quit everything. So i did. I got nostalgia from time to time (great times on dex and Xtc) but no real "withdrawals".
Ive found myself becoming more social, more goal oriented. More normal. I don't like it. I like ignorant high bliss with days blending together.
My question is this, Should i go back into drugs? Ive been doing good for a couple months, but i just want to have some fun again. It's like life isn't that fun when your sober. Maybe I'll grow out of this... probably. But i want to know, if i do drugs medium-heavy , will i be able to come out of it if i change my mind 10 years down the road? will i have fucked up my life just to have fun in my early twenties?

Re: A druggie life.
You'd be surprised how many people, especially older middle-aged folks maintain both of those lifestyles at once. You just need to maintain a middle-ground for your life. Sure, there are times to be fucked up and to let things blur, but, that isn't gonna put food on the table or money in the bank. That is when you hunker down and let that goal-oriented, driven for success side of you take hold, and you become "successful" and have a decent job and house and so forth.
I've based my entire history of drug usage on moderation and maintaining a middle-ground, and I'm happier than I have ever been when I've solely dedicated my life and energy on one or the other.

I don't know why you'd start right back up again just after quitting. I mean, if you have enough self control to just smoke a few bowls of weed here and there, go for it. But don't turn it into a lifestyle. Drugs aren't meant for that, they're a passtime. A recreational hobby.
Your Husband has the right idea.

Re: A druggie life.
umm... I don't know why you'd call that a druggie life =)
you wern't nearly toe-deep in the hell pit yet.
But as for leading a druggie lifestyle, I love it and wouldn't be any way else, but it's just a matter of personal prefrence honestly.
The lifestyle is for some, and isn't for others.
It's really a matter of do you like the drugs enough, and if you can handle the risks, downfalls, and living an alternative lifestyle.
Risks being getting arrested, Oding, and Addiction
Downfalls being feeling like complete shit every now and then from a comedown or overdoing it, shitty health, and pretty much poisoning your body if you do certain drugs.
And remember, no matter how high you are, the general population is still under the assumption that marjuana is a deadly drug and think of people who do drugs as horrible criminals and a scrouge on society.

Re: A druggie life.
Doing DXM once a week for awhile isn't leading a drug based lifestyle.
But as for being crazy, yeah, thats fun. After my one summer of very heavy LSD use...well, that was just the happiest few months of my life, complete with persisting visual distortions that occasionally made it hard to function.

Re: A druggie life.
thats not really a "druggy lifestyle"
its more like your a kid who gets high on the weekends maybe with friends.
if you think thats a druggy lifestyle i beg of you do not get into any harder drugs because you will probably get your body and soul ripped apart like the idiot you sound like

Re: A druggie life.
it realy is fun untill you realize your not in control of your life anymore.
the drugs take over. this has happened to me and it even weed has me hooked.
and as long as i have nothing productive to do and those paychecks keep coming i might just keep at this.
lifes a bitch then you do. Lets all get high...?

Hit the nail on the head.
You shouldn't be asking us. You need to be asking yourself. You need to find out what you want.
This is BLTC, what do you expect, the answer is probably going to be the drug route.
