Default Do you like to spend alot of time with your SO?

Only answer if you are in a SERIOUS relationship & over 20 years old.

Alot of my Ex-GF's (latest one specifically, 2 weeks a bachelor and going strong/drunk!) have complained that i never spend enough time with them. My usual response is "Jesus woman you cramp my style enough as it is" or words to that effect, usually phrased in a less harsh way.

Things like motorbike riding, drinking, internet, boxing, gaming, infact pretty much all my recreational acitivities don't involve my GF. Even if she comes, women get in the way. I guess i have always been a very solitary person aswell. A bit of a man's man, prefer company of mates to time spent with the Mrs.

I have a two part question. 1) Is this common? Anyone else have similar experiences? 2) Do women with similar lifestyles exist and if so where can i find one!?

I won't give you any advice, as I can't pretend to know your situation, but I'll tell you mine.

As a disclaimer, I'm not over 20, but my SO is.

When I spend time with her, we're pretty much inseperable. We enjoy similar things, similar movies and activities. We both think similarly. We're both withdrawn, alcoholic, anti-social and paranoid people.

She lets me drive her car, I let her stay at my place before work, we watch porn together, like the same comedians, have the same opinions on tv shows. She seems to get bored when I talk about work, which isn't fair because I listen when she talks about her work. But that's only a minor thing.

The only real problem is that she doesn't like me playing battlefield, and the only reason for that is because it's a game where you die a lot (compared to other games), which she can't seem to handle for some reason. She prefers GTA, but as soon as she dies, she stops playing, or if she's watching me she'll go watch TV.

The only way she cramps me is when I think of other girls. I've probably missed on on a big chance so far, it's getting to the stage where I'm finding out if I have. But that's okay. If I had any balls I would have done the break-up/hook-up, I suppose.

I want to ask you a question, it's not personal or anything, but nonetheless you don't have to answer me. What are her hobbies? Do you enjoy any of them?

well shit, i fit the disclaimer...

i spend quite a bit of time with my girlfriend, we've been dating for 2 years. we share alot of likes and dislikes, from food to music to movies to sex. its just a click, like how a key fits in a door and can open it rather than not. we always find something we haven't done together before, be it playing rummy with nudey cards, or super nintendo games, or watching black and white movies. variety is the key to sustaining long term relationships..

that doesn't mean you surrender your own hobbies and intrests. i still play my games, surf the net, and other shit like that, on my own time.....

also make sure your girlfriend can keep up with you drinking. that being said, also make sure you can keep up with her ;). nothing worse than someone who's already shitty faced while another is trying to get there ya dig?

Though I'm not in a serious relationship right now this has always been my problem. I don't commit enough and spend too much time getting fucked up, hustling, learning things and playing games. Girlfriend time usually revolves around how much money I made that day and how much I want sex.

I dunno someone else give a decent answer...

Yes, I do enjoy spending time with her. In fact, I'd much rather spend time with her than my friends.

I only really see my friends occasionally, when I am extraordinarily bored or if she's out of town for some reason. Other than that, I'll choose her over them 99 times out of 100.

Well then you're pretty fucking dumb for chosing the wrong type of girlfriend.

Seriously, why the fuck would you get with a girl who you've no similar intrests as?
And if it's for something as superficial as sex, why bother with the relationship bit?

An ex boyfriend of mine a long time ago was like that. The sad thing is, we did have alot of same interests, but he never took the time to find out.
I never bothered telling him I played DnD after he told me all about the games dynamics and then said "but you couldnt understand all that"
Mad

Go out there, and find yourself an interesting girl who you do like to spend time with!

I'm 21 and I spend a ridiculous amount of time with my boyfriend. Significant others who have similar interests to you do exist, you just have to take the time to find them. However, we almost spend too much time together; I mean we literally do everything together. We play video games, chess, go surfing, snowboarding, drinking, study, eat, sleep, cook, surf the internet, biking, and the list could go on. So really you just need to find a girl who is as down with your lifestyle as you are. Well, as long as you're willing to share it with someone, you kind of seem like a ..... guy's guy.

I think two to three nights a week is a good idea, at least for the first year. Too much more or less starts to cause problems.
