Default What's this mean?

So I was talking to a female friend of mine tonight, one on one, sharing bits and pieces of our lives. I told her I'm kind of falling for this girl, but I don't want to commit because it's summer and I'm leaving in three months, blah blah. She told me about her best friend, who's a guy, and how she's had feelings for him forever but doesn't want to commit to anything either.. etc. Anyway we got on the subject of how I've just recently realized how many opportunities I've passed up with girls over the last few years. We've been friends for at least a year or two, and we've always been kind of flirty, I guess. So a half hour after she leaves, she texts me:
"Is it ok if I feel like that should go down on your list of moments when you could've kissed someone?"

I responded, yup.
She's totally right.
Does she want me? I mean, why else would she say that?
She is drop dead absolutely gorgeous, by the way.
Just wanted to run it by totse.

Default Re: What's this mean?

I had a coulple situations like this in the last few months.
Some girls make it obvious, others you need to pry for a hint or two. You said you two had been pretty flirty. Do you mean just like playful flirting, or like serious flirting?

The whole part about her liking a "friend" is classic. Just earlier this week, a girl I've known since earlier in the school year did that with me. She started talking about this wonderful, nice, attractive guy that she really likes, but isn't sure if he likes her back. And eventually (after like 10 minutes on the phone) she just like outright said that she really likes me. After that part, I had to confess that I'm kind of seeing someone already. It probably didn't help that its a girl I met online and haven't met in person yet, but it happens. The girl online and I just met randomly. It was just a random message from her saying HI, and I guess we both just entered with the same mindset.

Then a couple months ago I went out with this other girl. I had known her for a few years now, but she just lost a lot of weight. So I found her facebook, and sent her a message asking if it was really her, and she looks great. Then I got this message back, and it just became a lot of flirting. It seemed pretty obvious, but I really hadn't gotten too much attention from girls prior to her.

Although, you have a reason to wonder. A couple female friends and I will kind of jokingly flirt around. They will message me on AIM and say "hey sexy". Or I'll be like "hey baby". It's totally different though. But, here's the thing. Some girls only go out with guys that they were already friends with. Or, they may be shy. That is when it's hard to tell. Hell, a couple girls I didn't know they liked me because they never said anything or flirted. I just ended up finding out in a conversation when they said like "yeah, I actually had a crush on you back when you and so-and-so started dating", or "I've liked you since 7th grade, why didn't you ever ask me out?". But, these girls and I never had that much in common, so it didn't work out. So, don't worry too much about that.

Then, you get girls who sign your yearbook at the end of the school year. This is really hard to decifer. Some girls just always put little hearts after their name and say "love, Susie" (or whatever their name may be). Then everyone always rights such corny things, that you don't know what girls mean. A girl you like never talk to giving you her number, is pretty obvious. But, sometimes you just don't know depending on what they say.

Good luck. I can truely say that I've been there.

Saw her again. It was a rushed hello/goodbye, though. But she offered me to come with her to her lake house this Sunday and Monday, just us and her rents, who are really cool.
I think I'm up for it. :D
If I go I'll definitely post results. Ahaha I love summer :)

Well, I'm home. That was a whole lot of fun. But nothing at all happened between us.
I know, I know. Sorry to disappoint you, totse. What's odd, though, it doesn't really bug me. I don't know how to explain it. I don't even get it myself. I think she's hot as hell, and she's one of the coolest, most amazing people I've ever met.
Yeah, I probably had a few chances to land one on her, but it wasn't even on my mind at the time. By night, we just went to sleep, and that was that.
I can't really figure what she's thinking, but it can't be far from what I am. Which means that she's not going to stop something if it happens but she's not going to start it either. So for now I guess we're just stuck in this grey area of whateverness. Eh.

It's all good. I was out on the lake all day, got to ride a jet ski, made a campfire, ate some good food, and just had a great time. And I've got other girls to worry about. :p
The thing is that I've just got a really strong 'what if' feeling about this girl. You know what I mean. She just never ceases to amaze me. But there's all summer left before I leave, so who knows what will happen?

Sounds like it could lead to something quite decent, an amazing relationshipp(sexual aswell as friends?) between you maybe?

That would be really great. I don't know if/when/how it will happen, though.
I talked to her dad a little. Sounds creepy, haha. But essentially he explained how she never gets too close to anybody and ends up pushing them away, just so she won't get attached. I think he's right - I've definitely seen her do that. So I guess all I can do is play it by ear. If something happens, great. If not, that's great too, but I'll always have the 'what if' feeling in the back of my mind.

On another note, there was another girl I was friends with for a long time and I'd had a crush on her forever, and suddenly things happened, and now she's playing stupid girly games with me and it doesn't look so great between us now. I don't want to lose another friendship, but at the same time, the 'what if' feeling that's been nagging at me all that time is now gone. I don't know which is better. :-/

Forgot to actually ask a question. Should I bring this up with her or just see how it goes? I can't decide.

I think I'm shit with girls.

Every girl I can be friends with, I'd still fuck the shit out of.. usually because they're hot.

I feel bad.. I don't make a habit of making friends with girls unless they're hot and it's too far gone..

I didn't kiss you for two reasons. One, you're an amazing friend. I value our friendship a lot. I tell you things I don't tell a lot of people. I don't know if you feel the same way I do, but I hope so. Anyway, every time a boy and a girl are friends and something funny happens, they either end up in a happy lovely relationship for a long time, or things get awkward and friendships are destroyed. Number one isn't going to happen, because neither of us wants that. But number two has happened to me in the past more than once, and I can't let it happen to you.
The other less important reason is that you kissed Jason. It's a psychological thing and it probably wouldn't make any sense if I tried to explain it.
So yeah. I don't know if I'll ever tell you this but I wrote it out anyway just in case. Just know that you're one of the most amazing people I know, who just happens to be a girl, and an extremely beautiful one at that. The man jokes don't count. If you wonder why I poke you all the time, it's just hard to keep my hands off of you, that's all.
I'll miss you a lot next year.

Jason is my younger brother.

I haven't sent it to her yet, and I probably won't, so I'll just tell totse instead.

Ok. So she has committment issues, or something similar? I can understand that. So I'd say she wants you around, because she invited you up there, maybe she's a little shy or something. If she's really amazing, and you seem like pretty good friends, I'd definitely talk about it with her, in person. Communication usually does pretty good things for any kind of relationship. Just don't show any feelings of resentment if you can help it if it ends up that she doesn't like you.

Talk to her.

Get her to close your eyes. Whisper something to her and then kiss her on the lips, while her eyes are still closed. And then see what happens from there.

Edit: Or friend trap?

If I were you, I'd send that to her. That's the kind of mushy crap girls LOVE. I shit you not. She will think you're one of the sweetest people she knows. That has about a 70% (if not more) chance of you and her getting together. That is if she likes you. She won't think less of you for sending that at all, that's for sure.

Go for it man.

Run it by totse? Yeah, like you're going to get a lot of different opinions on this. You know what totse is going to say, you just want some reinforcement on something you're already planning to do, that's why you made the opening post biased. (ex. She drop dead gorgeous...by the way.)

Don't include the part about neither of you wanting a lovey-dovey relationship, because if you say that it couldn't possibly happen.

Otherwise I say send it, send it, send it!

Haha thanks everyone. The only problem that stands in my way is that she doesn't have an email, no myspace, and no facebook, so the only way to do it is either text message (fuck that) or old-fashioned handing her a note. Or I could just talk to her in person about it. I think I've got the balls to do it. What say you, note or face to face?

Well, go with the note, it shows that you really care what she thinks, too much so to ask her personally, but make sure you're sitting there when she reads it so you can discuss this face to face, and so that when she admits she loves you too, you can totally go at it, but if she doesn't feel the same way, you still show that you're man enough to face the rejection.

How does giving her a note instead of confronting her suggest that I care more about what she thinks? I don't understand what you mean.
I don't think I could give her the note and have her read it while I'm sitting there feeling like an idiot. I'm thinking I'll just hand it to her as we part ways. That way we can talk about it next time we meet.

She may feel that you have that 'I don't care' attitude, plus she would probably think the note would be cute. ^_^
