Back story:
My girlfriend is 24; I'm 23. We've been dating for a little more than two years. In that time we've led a fairly typical mono-partner-us relationship (except for a few threesomes and orgies). Admittedly, I have a far higher sex drive than her (or most people) and am the one who checks out/fantasizes about other girls, while she typically does not check out other boys.

Basically, the thought of her giving a lap dance to some other guy is nauseating, and I need someone to explain to me why I should respect her decision to become a stripper. I think that I have no right to tell her not to, or if I do, I don't want to stop her from doing something that could be good for her(, financially at least). The problem of being bothered by her dancing for other guys is more rationally explained, partially, by me being afraid of her getting more attention.

It's a story that everyone seems to experience from one end or the other: you're happily together, then someone takes interest in you, and you now have a whole new set of options and things to weigh. I'm unsure whether I trust her to stay with me, though I do trust her to be honest.

There are other more obscure fears, e.g. fearing she'll get stalked or raped, etc. I'm really just posting this to (hopefully) get some advice as to how to settle down about her stripping.

Yeah, that's a lot of why she wants to do it. She is always scrounging for money. She also had a friend in college who stripped, although that girl's boyfriend was withheld that knowledge.

omg do it dude i've had the pleasure of dating a stripper and it was probably the best relationship of my life. seriously the perks WAY outweight any negative consequences. as long as you think she'll stay faithful i say support her decision.

rabbitweed - that was why i mentioned it. I think the difference is that even in group sex there was a sort-of... not exactly surveillance, but the ability to observe that it was platonic sex with the other partner(s).

I'm in New England, and at least the strip clubs around here, from what I've been told have the 'touch and go' policy. I've never been to a strip club (and have never had any desire to go); I think that my preconceived notion of a strip joint being really sketchy (girls getting their assess pinched, harassed, etc) has been a lot of the problem. I plan to go to one soon, and my girlfriend wants me to be there for her audition (and afterwards, I assume).
