Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
-That not getting an erection when you're young and nervous is most likely not a serious medical condition
-White bumps on your virgin dick doesn't mean you've an STI
-SOMETHING ABOUT PARENTHOOD
-That not all girls want marathon sex
-That as jackketch says, if you can't trust women to program a DVD player you shouldn't trust her with taking her pill
any to add?

you can't contract STIs from toilet seats or doornobs. you can, however, contract STIs from the girl in your history class with a tongue piercing

Shower, hold your head up high, and wear clean clothes.
There are so many people clueless as to the above statement.

Details about the pill. Like I have no fucking idea about any of the sidea affects or anything...
In my experiance, they never really went into any detail with anything. I can remember them trying to teach us all the different names of everything... How the fuck does that help me in life?!

Those are listed on the package of the pill.
Honestly, they don't need to teach this stupid ass stuff in school. They need to tell kids that STD's exist, Condoms used properly can protect you from getting girls preggers and STDs, Pulling out is not a reliable form of birth control. End subject.
The rest is our job. That is why Totse exists.
Maybe you guys just have shitty schools, but here in my awesome city, we have different classes for parenthood, basic hygiene practices, not trusting woman etc. Sex Ed is a 2 week subject where we all choose an STD and do a write up about it, with pictures of course.

Re: Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
They should teach people how to hook up because that's the hardest shit to learn. Spitting game is like a monthlong subject and getting the girl to leave before you wake up is even harder.
They should teach girls to have abortions if they can't come up with at least 10 reasons why they should bring another life into the world and go on welfare at the age of 18. They should teach guys that girls will give you brains so good you think youre gonna pass out just so you'll buy them nice things and do coke with them. They should teach people that a proper doggystyle involves lots of ass smacking and teach girls how to bend their legs over their heads.
I'm gonna open an academy.

Re: Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
i was in the only all girls sex ed class. we got a lecture on how to use a dental dam, tried the condom on the banana, the usual stuff on how to avoid being forced into it. there was more contaceptio stuff, dont really remember details. then cam the best bit. we had a 46 y/o math teacher with 8 kids tell us to start having sex as young as possible while you can still enjoy it. she gave us all flavoured and coloured condoms (8 each) and reminded us that abortion is still an option. we were 11 at the time, so i think they taught all that was necessary.

They should teach them more about handling relationships, not just the bare basics of sexual contact.

They need to start teaching kids the simple truth that having sex (vag) is nature's way of signing you up for a baby.
And that Nature , being the ginger haired cold heart bitch that she is, isn't real impressed with your bits of rubber, pills and potions.

Re: Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
I've been of the opinion that sexual education classes should involve volunteer speakers, rather than simply teachers. It would help engage the interest of students and expose them to ideas outside of the standardized curriculum.
The last time I had a sex-ed class, the teacher just assumed that everybody had learned all they were going to learn about sex. This was in Grade 10. So we simply had a Q&A session for five or ten minutes at the beginning of class, then we watched Rocky movies; the Q&A sessions involved such important topics as pancake nips and making fun of obvious virgins by asking them questions they couldn't answer if their life depended on it.
Rocky is the world's best excuse not to teach.

then we watched Rocky movies
goddamnit all we did was watch people die of aids....oh we also watched this movie where this lady gives birth. You would think that alone would stop people from having premarital sex altogether....but it didnt.
edit: well it probably stopped for like a week

Re: Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
just beacsue women have alcohol in their system when you fuck them, it makes you some sort of scary rapist
blowjobs are somewhat linked to throat cancer, so ive heard
parenthood and how fucked up your life can get if it's too young
..my old sex ed teacher was jailed for being a pedo, so i don't remember much of the lessons. Very perverse some of the stuff we were taught though
oh, and masturbation. It's great to see all the girls go "LIEK, OMG I DON'T DO DAT. IT'S SICK"
always makes me LOL

Re: Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
I agree with some of the other people here that Sex Ed needs to be about relationships and stuff like that as well as sex, STI's contraception, etc.
i also personally believe it should be made part of the national cirriculum here int he UK becuase as it stands parents have to give their consent for children to learn it, and you know some parents wont, then wonder why their kids got pregnant/got someone else pregnant so young, blame the schools, and the schools get a bad reputation although it is in fact the incompetant parents fault.
Wow, didnt think i would turn that into a rant, oh well.

Heh, we had college students come to our school and talk to us.
Unfortunately, it was named "Messiah College".
I didn't get laid until after high school.

If they did teach it better, it would prevent this forum getting clogged up with all those threads (ie "cn she get preg if _____", "Is havin ____ on my ____ normal?!1", "can women really cum lol").
But I guess this is where the sex ed continues for all of us.

For one day, we had an amazingly gorgeous 27 year old substitute teacher, and she didn't know what to do, so she just described to us her first time. I have never seen that many students pay such close attention to a teacher before. I swear we would have killed our own families to have 1 hour alone with her when she was done.

Re: Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
This was in 2002 or 2003 I think, and they made us watch this really cheesey late 80s american video on abstinance, and us being 21st century new zealanders we found it most amusing. There were all these really serious Americans going on about how they'll save it for their partner, how they want to be pure, and how they don't want to get aids....there was this one chick talking aids, and she said in this really strong accent "No orrgasm is worrth dying forr!" to which I of course contemptuously announced "pfft, she's obviously never had sex with ME before". Most lolz I ever got in class.

;) Funnehs!
Sex-Ed is pathetic. Sure, the anatomy of the human body is interesting, and important to learn about. The realities of life, as many others in this thread have mentioned, are what seem to be overlooked.

Re: Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
Most of the sex-ed videos I had to watch involved a woman dress up as an 'egg' and a man dressed up as a 'sperm'.
And lot's of big hair and shoulder pads.

Re: Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
The one I watched was extremely bloody. I was disturbed by it.
I don't understand why we should watch that, unless we want to become doctors. Birth is natural. To try and use it as a scare tactic is ridiculous.
If anyone has to ever watch it, sit in the front row, and discuss the beauty of it out loud to yourself. Watch for vaginal tearing, and comment on how the mother is sacrificing her own body to bring a life into the world. Ask the teacher about the origins of all blood and other secretions. Ask if all vaginas look like that. Ask if vaginas are naturally always big enough to fit a baby through them.
Take it serious, and just try to make them as uncomfortable as possible.

Re: Things they need to start teaching kids in Sex-Ed
Sex ed was a week long thing during health. We had a guest speaker. It was my boyfriend's aunt.
I later broke the news to him that his cousin married a guy with an STI and she may or may not have contracted it.
The class was actually pretty informative and they didn't use any scare tactics.
