I have seen a lot of people on totse use some cool words, and I wanted to see if anyone would like a thread on it.
So, if you know any useful\smart sounding words, just, post them with a short definition, and maybe a sentence with the word in it.

My big words I throw in a convo every once in a while are-
Cornucopia
Plethora

They mean the same thing-Bountifulness [if that's a word...]

Trite (my favorite word)

It means overused or old.

Plethora is new.. Can you use trite in a sentence? ill look it up anyways.

Eloquency. Not too new, but I like it

If you find someone says something which can be even remotely construed as trite, remark "how trite!" or "that's so trite!" Something like that, an exclamatory remark. Don't use it like "I read the trite book" or whatever. That's a waste of the word and you do not want "trite" to become trite itself.

Oh, and don't use plethora. That sounds stupid. Not smart sounding at all IMO.

I'll just give a description. It is just a witty remark and is archaic so only use it if you're trying to sound old fashioned.

I like the word Lecherous.

It means 'lustful to the point of creepy', i.e 'lecherous old man'.
