Idiots that deserve Infractions include:
The Death Monkey
Silent420
These morons are screwing up the new forums without moderators. It is of my belief they feel they can get away with such nonsense with no moderator. Feel free to make an example out of them like they deserve.

Re: Idiots that deserve Infractions include:
Okay, its got a couple of trolls.
I don't think they're ruining the forum though, give it time. Sure theres NO other real posts, sure there probably won't EVER be hardly any traffic, but given time I'm sure the small amount of real traffic will more than make up for the couple of trolls that caused a LITTLE bit of trouble in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT the first night the forum was open. I wouldn't worry too much man.
What is this "feel free to make an example of them like they deserve" stuff though? Are you basically asking up to give them a hard time in OTHER forums?
Sorry, but I just don't understand what you're getting at. If you're asking for someone to be placed as a moderato in "Clean Tech",, then you should just say that! :P
Just out of curiosity though for anyone reading this, doesnt everything in "Clean Tech" alreadly fall under the topics discussed in Green Planet? Green Planet is a really small forum too, why split it apart? You could basically be killing it, with the result being two forums with no real traffic, instead of one forum with decent traffic.

Re: Idiots that deserve Infractions include:
You can do this yourself; any mod is trusted to give infractions outside their own forum. I already gave grayboy an infraction for spamming up the new modless Mac forum (I put it under hack/destroy/deface since Jeff clarified the rule on spam, does that seem reasonable?). There'll probably be more spam in the forums without a mod, and since it's only a ten-day temporary ban users receive now I don't see any reason not to infract.

I have no idea why Clean Tech was made but I'll gladly mod it as that is what I do for my job.
And as for the example, I meant as in they don't think they can get i trouble they should learn the hard why that they can :D
I gave one of them some... The Devil Monkey? or whatever

I agree. GP hardly gets any traffic anyway. There's no reason they should be split.
Same with T&T and the windows forum. 90% of T&T discussion was windows oriented already.

Re: Idiots that deserve Infractions include:
I'd like to see Clean Tech as a forum about technology with environmental concern, with topics centered around electronics, whereas GP is a purist environmentalist forum.
Does that make any sense?

I can see the distinction, but neither forum will get enough traffic to justify the split.

Re: Idiots that deserve Infractions include:
I don't see Clean Tech as a split, I see it as an addition.
If it turns out to be a mistake, I can always merge the messages from Clean Tech back into the Green Planet forum.
FYI: I meant to make the Green Planet mods the mods of Clean Tech as well, but I forgot. This oversight has been fixed.

Re: Idiots that deserve Infractions include:
FWIW, there are plenty of people that want to reduce the amount of pollution that they cause (their carbon footprint) who aren't necessarily tree-hugging, save-the-whales-chanting, flowers-in-their-hair eco freaks. They might be disinclined to post in a Green Planet forum, but more than interested in a Clean Tech forum.
... and no, I'm not saying that the folks in Green Planet are a bunch of tree-hugging, save-the-whales-chanting, flowers-in-their-hair eco freaks. I'm just explaining why I think the new forum is an addition, not a split.
Read Zodiac by Neal Stephenson for a much better example of what I'm talking about. No, it's not about the Zodiac killer, it's a fictional story about a kick ass environmentalist who doesn't like toxic chemicals in his drinking water, and what he does to publicly embarrass large corporations and make them stop polluting. Highly recommended reading.
