Why things are the way they are.
I was talking with some people about how they think the world is horrible these days.
Why do you think things are the way the are? A lot of people say it's because there IS no god, or god doesn't care anymore. That apocaplyse is coming. That god is a mean bastard.
I think God's probably just curious as to what will happen. Let's say this is his first run of an experiment and he's testing out variables.
Maybe God's a lot more detacted from us. Like bacteria under a microscope made by a scientist. ( But of course, being 'omnipotent' if that's the right word, he'd technically be able to come down on a much personal level )
And when he gets bored, he'll change things up.
And honestly, if he wanted to send a message for us to 'repent' and be better people, he could just send the message to everyone's brain at the same time. What says he couldn't, being all powerful? A grander level of a man on a microphone.
Your thoughts?

Reason: didn't think it was clear enough. Maybe it is. I'm tired.. Sorry if it's not.

Re: Why things are the way they are.
Things are the way they because of an almost infinite number of different things.
Wether life is better now, or years ago is very subjective. Ask 2 cancer sufferers wether the world is better now, or 15 years ago, and you'll get 2 totally different answers. One will be thankful for the advances in technology, and one will wish their incurable cancer was detected earlier.
I guess a possible answer to your question (and staying with the theme) would be if it wasn'r for religion holding us back, we would be a lot more advanced than we are now.

Re: Why things are the way they are.
From my perspective I don't believe God is bothered either way how things are. God knows that life is eternal and can never be harmed. God knows life is ever changing. Neither does god think anything is in a "bad way". "Bad" is just a label we have assigned to the things that don't support what think we want and need out of life.
Also If god were to stop so called "bad" things from happening then it would inhibit our free will. Free will is crucial if we are to explore who we are and who we want to be.
The shit we experience in life comes from mans bad choices and ignorance of what is best for the human race.
Mans uses of the 7 deadly sins are the cause of most of life's problems. We have been advised to be aware of them but these are the things that ruin what could be beautiful.

Re: Why things are the way they are.
The little people think they are powerless to help even themselves, and let the world and their brothers tread upon their backs. The big people think they know what is best for others, demanding obedience from the world and their brothers.
Complacency and dominion...the two great side effects of pity and pride.

Re: Why things are the way they are.
We all create our own reality, but over-all, reality is a co-creation.
There is world hunger, rape, war, homelessness and so forth because we AS A SPECIES DESIRE it so.
When everyone realizes that we are All One, and that no one is better or worse than anyone else, that no country or religion or whatever is better than any other one, the world will become pretty much like heaven, only without all the harps and stuff.
One little factoid--the world collectively spends ONE TRILLION bucks a year making war, If this money went to humanitarian purposes, there would be no more hunger or homelessness. Or war, of course.

I am tempted to take a screen shot, for nostalgic purposes. This just doesn't happen very often.

I think that life is sort of a test which god has made for us. If you do what you are supposed to do and trust god, he will help you get through the rough spots. The way you look at things makes all the difference. For instance, I may go through a week being relatively depressed and then the next week feel perfectly fine. Nothing has really changed in my life, except that I looked at things from different perspective.
The reason to have us go through this "test" (instead of making all our lives super easy with no problems for example) would be/is because when god made humans and found they turned out to be a bunch of disrespectful morons (see begining of bible), He decided to make it a little harder to get to a place which is perfect (heaven). God started humans off in a perfect place to begin with (garden of Eden). Until we screwed that up and broke the only rule humans could break at the time...etc...etc...So now, things are a bit more complicated...

God knew the beginning from the end. He loved us enough to make a Way by being The Way to get us out of the situations we make. Like PARENTS are with their CHILDREN. God is Love, and all things Good. Anything contrary to the KNowledge of God is a lie, and we know Satan to be the Father of LIES, and the god of this WORLD'S SYSTEM. Man is the ones who've made this world like it is. WE'VE DONE THIS, stop blaming OTHERS. IT'S US. Nothing in humanity has changed. We often wonder how people can delight in the suffering of others, but they do. THey have. It's the evil devised in humanity's heart. It's the human nature apart from God to be everything God isn't. But a believer, doesn't delight in things contrary to the KNowledge of God, and if they try to, it grieves them.

The reason for why things are as they are is not as important as your reaction to how they are.

Re: Why things are the way they are.
Yes, things are better than ever before for the majority of people. Nonetheless, things could be much better. Either way, I have no reason to think it has anything to do with god...beside the belief in god and its effects.

I believe a large part of people acting like babies in the first place is thinking there is some egoic God that will just keep changing their diapers no matter how many times they decide to take a shit, and that acting like an asshole, lying to even yourself is okay as long as you "repent".
Do I believe in a spiritual connection between us and the universe that can be percieved in the right state of mind (no mind at all for extended periods of time)? Yes. I can never argue that again. I can never even pretend to myself again there isn't, I just know Im not as aware of it as before, but I can be, and so can all of us. Maybe that's why Im still here.
Do I believe most "religious" people have one shit of a clue what they're talking about, and would I trust them?
No way. There's no way I'm going to listen to someone spending $40 a week on eating fast food, with cellulite marks, a cigarette in their mouth, and an almost zombie like stare in their eyes tell me what is right and wrong according to God. I would rather listen to a peaceful monk tell me how to find peace than listen to a liar invent some wild story of "what might happen in the future" Let's get real here, life is right here, right now happening in THIS moment. Some live a hellish life, some not, but the BELIEF in some heaven really causes a lot of people to take for granted just living a good life in general.
The earth and these bodies are for us to take care of using our energy. If we don't take care of them, they will take care of us. That's why things are fucked up. Because most people would rather let someone else be God than take the responsibility of being God of their own lives. And there's nothing better than a crowd of like-minded people to convince you jumping off a cliff is fun.

Re: Why things are the way they are.
To be honest I'm not entirely convinced that the world is a horrible place now more than ever before, I just think that with media able to cover stories all around the world, and choosing to report mostly on the bad stuff, we have more bad examples of the world.
Personally I think everything's probaly more or less the same as it's ever been. One complaint though, maybe people should stop watching soaps and being such faggots.

If God is not benevolent then he is not worthy of praise. If that is the case, then I don't give a fuck about God.
