I have a prescription to a controlled substance. I was wondering if I could take a short drive over the border to a different state to a doc and tell him i just moved there and ask for him to write me out a script in the new state while maintaining the script in my home state? could i just use different docs/pharmacies in the same state?

So if i go to another doc will thay ask for the prescribing doctors contact info?

Yeah its called 'doctor shopping', no ones stopping you from just going to as many diff docs as you want..no need to leave the state. Its not like theres some master DB/record that gets added to every time you fill an Rx. Privacy laws and stuff etc..

I would be more concerned with what Pharmacy you (would) go to, make sure to use different places..mom 'n pop pharmacies ideally.

It also depends on what the drug is.

I mean if it's only something like Vics or Xanax or something it should be no big problem.

But if it's morphine, oxycontin, or anything else that requires the old triple script, then yes, you are monitored.

The records kept for 'hard' shit are very stringent now. I'm not 100% on the system but there are multiple records and yes there should be a 'master' record about the individual who is prescribed the shit, that any doctor or pharmacy has access to.

its actually adderall, its really only fun for me if i take 100+ mg which makes me run out of it in 10-15 days. I would much rather get a script for dexedrine or desoxyn, but i have never heard of that stuff being used around here and I wouldnt want to risk getting ritalin or worse, strattera!

edit: i wouldnt doctor shop for pain meds due to the fucked up circumstances of people with legit pain, but add meds are already given out like candy so i dont see the harm

just cuz it's fun, doesn't mean you should run through it that quickly everytime. ever heard of self-control? dose up 100+ mg less frequently, or keep doing it how you are and go a week or two without any. damn, this is your fault here, fix yourself, don't go buy more drugs..
