I was wondering that, while the ship was sinking, some guy (or guys) thought "fuck this, we won't make it, let's rape some random girl" ?

Or even before disaster struck? Or any other crime?

I imagine they would have had other things on their minds.... Like making it to a liferaft for example.

Come to think of it, that may be a distinct possibility. The lifeboats were all gone a good time before the ship sank...however it would have been hard to accomplish with the deck slanting that much. Though, I like to think people were too busy trying to save themselves or their families, there wern't many completely single guys in 3rd class, mostly immigrant familes.

How horrible for any victims, to know you're going to die and then to get raped. And then to die. Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, it wouldn't surprise me if it happened.
