Biting your pets back?
Is it ok to bite your pets back if they bite you?
Say you have a new pet that doesn't know the rules yet, and it bites you. Is it ok to give it a light bite just to show it how it feels and whatnot?

Re: Biting your pets back?
I would'nt bite them as such, instead you should give it a light slap on the nose to discourage it. After being slapped on the nose afew times, most pets will get the message. It really depends on what type of pet we are talking about, can you be more specific?

Re: Biting your pets back?
You may have picked up the ferret when it was in the mood to run, then let it go when it bit you. Ferrets learn “Bite = Let me down” amazingly fast. So when it bites you, don't let it down, carry-on as if nothings happened. If it's a baby it may not be fully accustomed to being handled by humans, or it could be teething, too. Heres a short article about stopping the biting, here.

Re: Biting your pets back?
If one of my "pets" bit me, and I returned the favor, we'd both be way worse off, than if I just pacified it...

Us Russians live in heavily wooded and cold areas. We get bored.

Re: Biting your pets back?
I have never been bitten by any of my pets except when they're sick or have been very scared by something, ie fireworks ect.
In either of those isntances, biting rather than comforting would be cruel and horrible.
