I merely wanted to let the board know what was going on, you know..maybe save on some confusion down the line. It wasn't intended for debate just as a courtesy towards the regulars.

That's one of those great things about moderating a forum. Before Meta ever touched SG, he schooled people on this unquestionable rule.
Since he moderates the forum, he decides what fits. Off-topic threads are completely within his power to create, and sticky, if he sees fit.
