When 'Conspiracy!' and 'Science of the Damned' where merged into 'Paranoid Delusions' back then, a lot of the regulars had complained about the name and about the merging all together.

A few weeks ago I made a thread asking the regulars what they thought about a name change. (http://www.totse.com/community/showthread.php?t=1988923) The majority of them thought it would be a good a idea; they don't like the name 'Paranoid Delusions' because they feel it's an insult. The majority of them also made it a point to say that they would like to see the forums be split back up as they were originally.

So I'm bringing the issue up. I'd say it would be better to split the forums back up; they both cover distinct topics (i.e. one conspiracies, and another paranormal/spiritual topics), and this would take care of the name issue as well. ArmsMerchant also expressed his desire to split the forums.

So would a split be possible, and if not then a name change?

I agree. I think the name is insulting.

What was the reason behind the merge in the first place? They weren't particularly low-traffic forums, were they?

I read PD every now and then. It's interesting and the creativity can be impressive.

I think the admins believed that they were, and that the topics where similar, so they merged them.

I couldn't agree more. I don't know why the two forums were merged back in 2005; each forum definitely had it's own feel and personality.

Done. Same mods in both forums for now.

Heck, the heinous stuff that goes on in the open is mostly ignored by the media, anyway.
