I think it depends on what you are after.
If you want to pick up girls, they aren't that great. Better to go to a bar, or parties, or wander around talking to various girls.
But if you are into something a bit different from the norm they are good to make contact with a few like minded people. sydneyswingers.com.au is good if your into swinging (and in Sydney), but it's by invitation only.
