Re: the concept of marrgiage seems obscene to me..
Possibly because you're 18, male, and horny all the time.
The concept of a life partner isn't a bad idea (de facto)
Actual marriage though.. at least in the traditional sense doesn't really do much for me.

Wait until you fall madly in love, and want to spend your whole life with her. But she starts to hate you, and you end up going postal.
Just ask for The_Rabbi's advice.

The rabbi had a bad experience. I've been married for 9 years and we are still very happy together.

The idea of a life partner is a cool one. Marriage is just the social contract behind it. It's not something I see as needed, but it's an impressive sign of commitment.

well you don“t have to get married now and till then you can try the huge range of girls. anyhow i believe it will get harder everytime to get laid and someday you realize that one serious partner will guarantee you~getting laid, housework, entertainment, regular arguees and may some hot M.I.L.F. action?!

Re: the concept of marrgiage seems obscene to me..
I don't think anyone will want to stick around me for more than a few months anyway. Once people get to know my true personality then they tend to run away as fast as they can.
I don't think i'd want to get married anyway, people get boring after a while.

Re: the concept of marrgiage seems obscene to me..
I'm a guy and I think the concept of marriage is great.
Sex alone gets boring and is meaningless.
Having someone to share your thoughts with and move through life with would be great. :)
Then again, I suppose the OP doesn't have many thoughts to share and his life is probably pretty meaningless.

More like the exception, not the norm. And you're not old enough to call it a success
Besides, you're psychotic or something and your husband had some issues as well I can't seem to dig from my memory. Hardly something to strive for

Re: the concept of marrgiage seems obscene to me..
I think 9 years is long enough to call it a success.
And everyone has personal problems...I wasn't saying that I personally am so wonderful, but my relationship is./shrug I mean we're closer and happier together than any other married couple I have ever seen. You can knock it if you want to, but you would be wrong.

Re: the concept of marrgiage seems obscene to me..
Monogamy is a concept I've always struggled to understand, but I guess its more about the joint things you invest in....ie: children, property, possessions etc that keep people together.
I suppose as you get older these things become more important than risking it all over a quick fling.
Till then I shall party till I'm pooped.

Re: the concept of marrgiage seems obscene to me..
I'm monogamous at heart; always felt that marriage would work for me, personally, providing of course I found the right person.
I think a major problem is that it obviously isn't for everybody, though, but there's a lot of social pressure to be married. People are made to feel like there's something wrong about just not being the type to commit, and I think a lot of marriages are just as much about not wanting to be alone and feeling like it's "the right thing to do" than anything else. I love the concept of marriage (what's more romantic than making that kind of commitment?) but I think it's been cheapened, and that many people don't really think about what it means to marry somebody. Marriage shouldn't be necessary, just an option.
