Am I oblivious? Or do I have something special?
Not to toot my own horn, but..
my girlfriend and i are madly in love with eachother. she is obsessed with me to the point where i have to spend every possible minute with her, and when i dont, she calls nonstop. it can sometimes be annoying (work, school etc) but for the most part, i enjoy it. we settled into a very secure relationship. theres no cheating, no lies, no fights (except for a few started by my mother) and more sex than I can handle. we're 100% brutally honest with eachother no matter what, and have total trust in one-another.
the thing that i find rare is, we met at a relatively late age (she was 18, and I was 19) and we were both virgins. ive never gotten into a girls pants before and shes never even seen a penis before. we took eachothers virginity and now we are closer than any couple i've ever met. I can easily say I want to spend the rest of my life with her.
i hear stories all the time about so-and-so cheating on so-and-so and whats-his-name beating whats-her-name, and little-miss-davis getting pregnant at 16 and she doesnt know who the father is, and stories like that just make me sick. i couldnt imagine being in a situation like that, and then i got thinking... not many people have it like I do. Or do they?
am I wrong/oblivious, or do I really have something special here?

Re: Am I oblivious? Or do I have something special?
Sounds like a good deal to me. If you are both into each other that much, thats really special.
Trouble is, you'll be the last one to see if somethings wrong if ever there is - thats just the way it works. Sweet Oblivion I think it's called.
Just go with the flow, treat her right, and you should be fine. If you do that, but something happens, at least you'll know you did all you could have before it happened.
Thats all you can do.

Re: Am I oblivious? Or do I have something special?
^ About that... I was pretty much disgusted by every person I'd ever met. Not physical, I mean everyone has such a shallow and lame personality. The girl I boned is perfect for me. What I was getting at with this post was, I'm wondering if a relationship like this is rare or is it more common than I think.

Ignorance is bliss.
I agree with Chumpion.
You have to have had something crappy a few times before to have a basis for comparison with this girl.
My missus and I have been together for nearly two years. We've had our ups and downs (to say the least) but we're still very much in love with each other.
It was much easier to fault find and work things out seeing as most of the other relationships I'd had were crap and riddled with problems.
But if you guys are happy now, continue doing what you're doing...And if it does go tits-up, you know where to come to ask questions! ;)

I think you have something pretty good man, but I'm at odds to wonder why you need the fucking reassurance.

My husband and I are like that...We always spend all of our time together and we are madly in love AND we still have a good sex life. Unfortunately, we are the only married couple I know who don't either hate each other or just stay together out of laziness and apathy. It makes me sad too, because I always feel like if those people would go to marraige counseling it would really help them. I know this one married couple where the wife has gained 100 pounds (literally) in 4 years AND she's a total bitch. Her husband hates her so much that he's actually become IMPOTENT and she hates him for being a loser and a limp dick pansy. They have two kids, so they feel trapped with eacd other I guess. The wife told me that she and her husband hadn't even touched each other in over a YEAR.
I know this other couple where the husband is cheating on her and he doesn't even TRY to hide it. The wife is in denial, but she is so depressed that she hasn't left the house since I've known her.

I am in the exact same situation as the OP. Even by Age we lost it to each other etc. etc. Is this a parallel universe?

Re: Am I oblivious? Or do I have something special?
in my experience sense you where both virgin's yeah it's going to be great for a while but later on your both going to be wondering what else is out there and i know your going to say nah it won't happen but it will and then before you know it you'll be on each other's nerve's and then the cheating will come i hope it doesn't happen like this but in my experience that's what's going to happen

No, you're not special. I've had a relationship like that for 2 1/2 years now.

Re: Am I oblivious? Or do I have something special?
I was questioning it because it's hard to believe that in a world like this, I am the only one I know who has it good. I never had anything good.

First off, I got that too, I think I couldve already lost my virginity but from a certain perspective it would be quite a shame, settling for some piece of meat instead of searching out a real woman.
Second thing is, Ive never heard of such a relationship, just beware of the oblivion thing, thats the hardest blow that comes at you unsuspected (like a punch under the ribs), but dont get paranoid and suspect things that didnt happen.
Oh, and if something fucks up dont forget to come back here and write it down. Im sure your experience might be of some benefit to others

There is one red flag that I see in your relationship that you described, and that is her calling you constantly. You never said how long you have been together, but I've had those kinds of girlfriends in the past (before cell phones, and it was STILL a major annoyance) and I can tell you that it gets old quick.
I also agree with the other posters when they discuss about having each other as the ONLY lover's and perhaps 5, 10, 15 years from now one or both of you will have a wandering eye always wondering how other people might be in the sack.
One of the other things I've seen from folks that marry their high school sweethearts is they tend to end up arguing about petty and nonsensical things. Like someone else said, you have to be in a couple of really BAD relationships to fully appreciate the good ones. I know for a fact my marriage wouldn't be so successful now if it wasn't for the psychos I was with previously. I'm not saying you WILL argue about stupid stuff, its just from my experience you tend to overlook the small petty things easier when you've had a rough road with people that had MAJOR issues.
The only thing I would advise you to be wary of is to understand that you ARE still somewhat young...... and your goals, dreams and priorities will evolve over time. I can guarantee in 5 years you won't be the same person you are now, and even moreseo 10 years from now. So while you two may be perfectly compatible NOW, things may change over the course of time once each of you has evolved into that different person. Hopefully you will still be on the same wave with each other, but there is the possibility you won't be....and if that does happen you can't fault either of yourselves because of that. Myself, I look at some of the relationship I was in during my teens and 20's and say...."what the fuck did I do that for?" However I do remember how my thinking and mindset was at THAT time, so I just chalk it up to the journey of life and realize not to be too hard on myself because it was a means to an ends to where I am now.
Good luck!!!!

Re: Am I oblivious? Or do I have something special?
I am in the same situation as you, OP.
Except that I happened to get around a few times (but I saved my virginity for her), and I am 17 while she is only 16.
I wouldn't want to be in any other relationship. Fuck the world, I've got my girlfriend.

Re: Am I oblivious? Or do I have something special?
you've got something pretty sweet right now, friend.
it appears that your girl is a bit clingy, what with the calling when you're not near and such.
but ride the wave man. ride it hard.
18/19 is late to meet? by who's standards?

There are always exploratory commissions that can be crafted between the two partners. Nothing wrong with swinging, threesomes, and the such. The difficulty is that younger couples are much less likely to accept these acts as a viable complement to the relationship they have.

Re: Am I oblivious? Or do I have something special?
I've only ever been with 2 guys and I never really wonder what else is out there. I'm not saying I don't find other guys attractive, but I figure having sex with them would be pretty much like having sex with my husband.

God has given you a wonderful relationship, why should it be filled with fornication that he hates though?
Get married, then God will continue you to bless you. :)
